I have done a bit of searching and almost everything I find is about modifying the 6th gen steering rack with an Integra pinion gear etc.
What I wasn't able to find any information on are comparisons of the 5th gen power steering (PS) racks to the Integra PS racks or anything about swapping the 5th gen manual rack pinion gear with the Integra etc.
Pretty much no information concerning any of the 5th gen steering racks whether powered or not was my results on multiple searches at varying times.
Can anyone fill me in on some of these details or point me to some information regarding specifically the 5th gen steering racks?
Looking at the difference between the Quafie rack and pinion and then 92-95 Civic's you can see the "teeth" size difference.
In other words, how can the Integra have a 2.9 turns (or whatever it is) lock to lock and the Civic has 4.0 turns lock to lock without there being a difference in the "teeth" or gearing. So no, I don't believe you can use an Integra pinion with a Civic rack.
I do believe you can swap an Integra pinion AND rack into a Civic housing.
Disclaimer: I have never disassembled an Integra steering rack. I do however have a Quafie quick rack and pinion for a Civic.

there was a guide here, or on d-series, where they just swapped the pinion. Let me see if I can find it.

This could very well be why all the write ups you see are for the EK and not the EG. And if it is about the EG they are talking about swapping the whole rack and subframe in.
And why Quaife makes a quick rack for the 92-95.

Now that thread has some serious info in it. Granted they were messing with the EF (88-91) rack but definitely covered a lot of great info concerning PS racks and the typical mods to tighten them right up. Nice 30 minute read indeed!

Yeah, this is the usual find. The EK modified racks with Teg pinion gear.
Well, I believe with all your help we've pretty much explained why there is no write ups for a teg pinion swap into a 92-95 (EG) manual rack swap. Doesn't appear to be doable. And at the same token, have compiled some of the best modification threads for all the mentioned racks into this thread.
Why not just convert the dc2 to a manual rack by looping a rubber hose? We had a discussion back then on team-integra and nobody was complaining. I think they left enough fluid in there to lubricate itself.

That seems to be the most economical option.
Really, I think If I am going to drop the sub-frame to put in the power steering rack, I am also going to add an electric power steering pump and leave the rack power assisted.
I was hoping that since I have one of the rarer 92-95 manual racks that there would be an easy mod to speed up the turning in lieu of ease of turning.
I have been looking off and on for the past few years and coming up pretty empty. I was hoping some of you veterans that have been around Honda's a lot longer than I have could enlighten me, and well, there is some solid information in this thread, of which I greatly appreciate. At least now I can feel confident in the speculations instead of being unsure.
Yeah, there is also an electric pump in some of the old Saturns from what I've read. But now that Saturn is a dead beast.... Might be harder to come by than the MR2 pump.

I'm doing the Quaife quick rack and pinion, but from my research most seem to think that the depowered Integra steering was the better/cheaper option.

Oh well.

I'm not too sure. In that long read thread posted up earlier, they get into the torsion bar of the pinion part of the shaft on the PS racks. If the manual rack doesn't have the torsion bar or it's thicker than the teg's and your Quaife is following the same suit of none or thicker, then the Quaife is the better option.
Let alone, less hardware on the rack if it's designed as a manual to boot. And if it fits the manual, you don't have to change the sub-frame either.
I haven't googled it yet but what was the cost of the quaife rack?
Here's what I paid earlier this year.

Ok. So is this to upgrade the p/s civic rack or the manual civic rack? Or both?
Just the manual. Takes it from 4 turns LTL to ~3.25 turns. From what I've read most say it's better than that, but the Integra PS rack still beats the Quafie ratio.
Justified, the ehmxhack route seems to be the effective route. Buying a dc2 reman rack would run you a bit more I believe. I haven't shopped for one, yet.
I've always found this video very informative. I swapped out an integra rack and pinion into my EG hatch. Just have to make sure you have the subframe for a PS rack. I changed it out when I replaced my engine and it was easy and fun. Steering effort is a bit hard, but otherwise when you get going its perfect.

I'm not sure why I just can't copy and paste. However, if you go to youtube and search: "Michael Flare ek steering rack" it will be the first hit you get. See if you can post the link to it.
