The Official Formula 1 2016 Season Thread
Ham's reliability hasn't been so good this year, but Nico has had some start-to-finish wins this year that (to me) give his season some credibility if the outcome falls his way.
Britney Recap:
Straya: Beats Ham in straight fight in the opening lap. HAM runs wide and must fight back. +1 Brit
Bahrain: Ham get's punted by Bo77as. No kudos awarded.
Chiner: No qualy time for Ham, but Brit is sort of a Chiner specialist, so make hay while the sun shines. +1 Brit
MotherRussia: Ham can't take part in Q3 with turbo booboo, but Brit was .5s faster in Q2 soooooooo +1 Brit
Baku: Brit owned the weekend start to finish. +1
hot tub: Ham had a ton of engine penalties in Qualy. Nico cruised.
Italia: Ham **** start. Beat Ham. Done. +1
Singapore: start to finish winner winner chicken dinner. +1
Malaysia: so Brit didn't win it and Ham lost 25 points, but Brit was DFL after being punted by Seb on lap juan t juan. Rallied back and brought down the gap to Ham (if Ham finished). No point but a special effort gold star.
Japan: Fastest guy all weekend, and doesn't go to the maak webbah school of F1 starts. +1
So that's 7 +1's for Brit. A worthy season if there ever was juan.

este are you saying if he gets away clean and doesn't have to go wheel-to-wheel then he can run the table?
like Button 2009 or MAL in that one race in Catalunya

Ham > Brit. Duh. But every now and then lesser dudes get the right breaks go their way, and they're fast enough often enough to make a gap to win the thing.
Calling my shot. Brit and HAM collision turn 1 Austin if both are on the front row Sun afternoon. Brit is at the point where he doesn't need to take any of HAM's forcing moves.
If he's in front and HAM tries barging through I can see him turning in so his rear wheel hits HAM's front, ala ROS/VET in Malaysia. Not that that's what happened there but it's an example of how fragile the front suspension is compared to the rear.
Brit's smarts get in the way IMO when it's time to go elbows out. IMO.
Brit would get a cut tire and Ham would continue on his merry way. If Brit wants to win, he needs to drive off the front some more, or just settle for second from here on out. Getting caught up with Ham doesnt seem to work for him often.

1) sweet move
2) smug AF
3) always looking for a reason to **** on Williams (since they dumped him a while back)

In the Merc dominance era Nico has out qualified HAM at the next 4 tracks. Not by a small margin either. It's 7-0 in favor of Nico. If HAM's start issues continue Nico won't have to worry about turn 1.
nice vid. turn 5 is a tricky bitch. turn 6 is a deceptive *******. are these first lap heroes?
How did HAMs laptimes look compared to ROS? I'm still curious if he's adapting to the new front suspension setup or if that has handed overall pace advantage to ROS.
qualy laps looked too close to call.

The PWC Mclarens crashed on the last green lap of the times race. It was a yellow the previous lap. The races are timed so someone was trying to make something happen.

The Briton came up 0.013s short of teammate and title rival Nico Rosberg in his final lap in Q3, having led the session at halfway point.
However, for Hamilton, who had trailed Rosberg in all three practice sessions and was four tenths adrift in Q2, setting a time almost equal to that of his teammate's was a satisfactory outcome.
"This weekend generally has not been that easy - not that they're ever easy - but, not as strong as the last race," Hamilton said."I was veering off with my set-up, had to shuffle back going into qualifying, so was kind of in no man's land going into qualifying.
"Some big changes and not easy to go straight to qualifying with a very different car, so that is why I am reasonably happy and that is why I am in a good position tomorrow.

Sky mentioned post race that Mercedes was not allowing the drivers to use the qualifying engine map this weekend due to Lewis' engine failure. Depressing because I thought we were finally getting close to parity.
Did you camp? Where at and how was it?

Some Laguna Seca PWC highlights that I caught on the video.

Camped in my car outside Seaside Police Dept. I wouldn't have made it in time before the gate closed. It was uncomfortable and cold (47F). Got free breakfast buffet at Embassy Suites when I picked up my PWC hot pass though.
That's a perfect spot to pick up ladies of the night. PoPo would never think to look for that kind of stuff outside their own front door.

Ham just looks a little off to me. I would never expect him to be trailing Britney in these driver tracks like Singapore and Suzuka, yet here he is. Odd.
