The Official Formula 1 2016 Season Thread
So I'm watching Petit LeMan and something made me think of the PWC. When was the last time we heard an update on Andrew Palmer. Lat I can find is from July I think. It's getting Schumacher-like and that's not good. Hope he's coming along well.
The trend for the last few years has been slim fitting everything.
First it was slim fit jeans, then skinny jeans, then super-skinny-slim fit jeans. Now fashionable people mostly just sew their clothes on in the morning, try not to eat or drink much during the day so they won't need to use the bathroom, then unpick the stitching before bed.
Cargo-shorts are the antithesis of this trend. They are not just baggy, but have extra bulky pockets sewn on to really emphasise how non-slim fitting they are.
Imagine being the fashionable person standing in your favourite skinny jeans. You're flexing your toes trying to keep the blood flow going against all odds and then you see some dude in cargo shorts. He looks so comfy, he probably just slipped those things on in a second with no special ritual or stances required.
Plus look at those pockets! I bet he's got all sorts of stuff in there, useful necessary stuff. Your own pockets aren't even real. They just stitched some detail in the places where pockets used to be. That's why you have to carry this leather messenger bag everywhere. You don't actually have any documents or a laptop with you, it's basically just a huge empty satchel for your keys wallet and phone. Meanwhile cargoshorts over there probably has everything he needs to survive in the wild for a week tucked away in those pockets.

indeed
eight mercedes-powered cards on the grid this year, HAMs car is the only one that has had engine failures.
this is why he can't have nice things

I find that so odd. I don't see how in the days of all the nanny systems on the cars, but could it be something he is doing? Again, I don't see how it's possible but it sure seems weird.
He was putting in a lot of fast laps in the middle of the race. Again, not like he did a race of Q3 laps but for it to only happen to him is just so strange. Then again it is Merc. Remember the year when MSchu had problem after problem while Nico had smooth sailing...
When asked to explain who he was referring to when he said 'someone' didn't want him to win, Hamilton said: "A higher power. It feels right now that a higher power is intervening a little bit. "But I feel like I have been blessed, with the great opportunity to be here."[I am working] with so many great people around me, the opportunity to be in this great team, to win two world championships and lots of lots of victories and records that I am breaking, so I have to be grateful for those and, while this does not feel great, I am eternally grateful."
LOL
I know no one here is buying into the sabotage thing but of all the races to sabotage this one and Germany would be the worst as far as Merc's team is concerned. They wanted to wrap up the WCC at what is basically a second home race for them, not blow up a PU lol.
"This is ridiculous. And if you speak to Lewis directly, I guess he will not say this."We worked for him and for Nico in a perfect way. He's won two championships so far with us, we've finished the most races ever. What do you guys think, we suddenly start to sabotage? Why? It's completely ridiculous and stupid."Asked who Hamilton meant by his original comments, Lauda suggested Hamilton was referring to a higher power, the very interpretation that Hamilton himself has since confirmed. On whether Mercedes had a preference in the outcome of the title battle between its two drivers, Lauda said: "We work for both cars the same way, we let them race the same way, all these questions are ridiculous."
Red Bull is now the only manufacturer besides Mercedes to get a 1-2 in the hybrid era. Still can't believe the wheel to wheel battle they had.
Vettel 3 spot penalty for Suzuka seems a little extreme considering the move ended his race.

Does Hamilton ever talk about how lucky he's been when things aren't going his way? He's won a race every season of his career, and he's enjoyed the best car nearly every race for the last 3 years...and has 3 world championships.
He's such a spoiled little ****, and isn't thankful for anything when he's not winning. Total contrast to Alonso. You ask him how does it feel to be in a **** car? He says "I'm very lucky in that I have two world championships, some people haven't even won a race"
