When I bought my civic it had a auto to manual swap done on it,and it was half assed.
They left the auto harness and auto ECU, as well as the auto intake manifold.
I went ahead and swapped the harness to the manual d16y8 ex coupe harness as well as ECU but heres the problem I have now.
When I attempt to turn on the car, It won't crank as well as the key gets locked into the ignition. When I disconnect the battery, the key gets released.
My guess is it was not done properly, there are a few ways to go about it, for the cranking a starter relay needs to be installed, [auto trans did not have one, it usad the A/T Gear Position Switch for neutral safety ] wiring for the Clutch Interlock Switch needs to be added, [just a ground into the switch and the output goes to the starter relays coil] or you can skip that and just run a jumper on the ATGPS plug, [connect the two black/white starter leads together] caution engine will crank in gear, [not stepping on clutch] you will also have to run wiring from the backup lights switch on the transmission to the ATGPS so you have back up lights.
You will also have to ground the black/blue lead at the ATGPS so key will come out, this should be an a momentary switch so key interlock solenoid is not on all the time, [probably burn out]. 94
I suggest you pull out your shifter console and take a look at the rectangle plug that is in front of the shifter and see if any wires were cut, crimp, mangled, destroyed, etc...etc...
