Jolyon Palmer says he's driving as good as when he won the GP2 championship. Did anyone here watch any 2014 GP2 races and notice any brilliant drives by him?

Kinda crazy how little people are prepared for even something as simple as a week or two of interrupted power supply. All the food in your fridge is **** within a couple of days, and you and everyone else is freaking the **** out causing a whole big mess.
Back in Florida where tropical storms were a thing, I was prepared for such an event (generator, non-perishable food, water, fuel). Now? I'm kinda like everyone else.
Pro-tip: every trip to the grocery store, just pick up one item for storage. rice, canned fruits/veggies/meats, legumes, etc. Easy to build up a pretty healthy "oh ****" reserve that way. And it keeps you thinking about it.
One time the power went out and neighbors freaked out because their flashlights had dead batteries and the stores were closed so they couldn't get gas, batteries, food, etc. It was funny to see. Meanwhile my residence was lit up with bright *** flashlights in every room. The only thing that sucked was the heat. Went to a friend's house and her teen son went to hang out with his friends so I hung out with his mommy. But the heat caused um, uh, performance issues.
Orrrr stop standing in front of microwaves and stop being paranoid.
(and have fuel and a generator at the ready)
Granted, it's Louisiana, but I bet those swamp people wish they had supplies right about meow.
And besides, having a generator and some food isn't going to help much in the dooms day scenario's. But wood be nice after some flooding/fires/epic blizzard that shuts down the power stations/grid for whatever reason.
Bridgestone/Firestone's new lead engineer of race tires, Cara Adams. (the one on the left)
Bridgestone Americas has announced a shakeup in the Race Tire Development arm of Firestone Racing, naming Dan Peterman to the newly formed role of manager of race tire development/production and building services and promoting Cara Adams to chief engineer of Bridgestone Americas Motorsports and manager of race tire development.
Adams, who began her career with Bridgestone in 2003 as an engineer in the tire/vehicle dynamics department, will take over for Dale Harrigle. Since joining the race tire development team in 2007, she has developed road and street course tires, and currently oversees the brand's superspeedway tire development, including those used in the Indianapolis 500. She also manages the race team's Force and Moment testing program, working with teams and manufacturers to develop tire models used in race simulations.
"I'm honored to lead our engineering team in the future development of tires for Indy car racing and into the next chapter of Firestone Racing's storied history," Adams said. "Perhaps one of Dale's biggest contributions to our sport is the expert team of engineers and chemists developed during his tenure. Dan, our entire team of engineers, chemists and technicians and I look forward to applying those teachings as we continue to provide world-class tires to our racing family."

i guess i'll keep the CRV then. i've already equipped it with a Group 24 deep cycle marine battery and I'm experimenting with an AGM battery in the garage for power outages. we had the gen-set in FL and the struggle is real to get one here too. the woman maintains an earthquake box and rotates food and water out of it so we'd just let the fridge go. we both hail from the land of the hurricanes as well and remember the **** times.

i'm not going to pass judgement on those poor bastards. unless you had a boat and enough time, all your prepper **** would be submerged right about now

Tada. If it takes you all sorts of time to get your **** out when it's time to go, not a lot of good it's gonna do ya.
