Did the top mount break? Because that could be caused by installation error.
Not that I'm supporting DNA at all.

its almost as if the mount does not push the rod down the shocks only came with the top bolt to hold the mounts. i was working on my car from 12pm to 8pm i did the dna Shock set a full DNA Exhaust set and 4 new tires and Hx rims and painted em white. im going to dissemble them tomorrow and see if i can add a washer to make it so the tophats push the rod back down. but id consider this a design error

They likely intended for you to use the factory washers pn the piston. Missing that washer will cause exactly what you are seeing there.

My thoughts exactly. When installed properly the only way that would happen is if the top hat "flange" surface broke thru. That doesn't seem to be the case in your picture. Seems more likely this is installation error as "98civdx" is suggesting.

For the record I don't support this brand.

agreed with the above, and also this should be edited to "never buy off brand garbage, for any reason ever"

Looks like your your missing the "damper stop plate" from this diagram. It's machined to fit on the taper of the shock shaft.

well after looking at that pic i went out to my trash can and pulled apart my old shocks and put that damper stop plate in the DNA ones and they worked ok till i went over some more bumbs and heard the springs ting around then i got PO but i was like what was i expecting it was to see if they worked or not cuz not many reviews out there ya ppl just say don't but unless u speak from experience i wont believe it. Now i dissembled em again and put in rubber dampers on the bottom and top of the spring if u ever got coil overs and took em apart its them rubber rings there's like 3 on each one and put em back in and they work Ok. i got the one on the top of the post shocks, lowering springs and tophats they are ok definitely not for upgrading for racing they dont help with
Body roll they dont help with handling at all they are not as good as stock on comfort but hey why we doing this then not for comfort lol

ID SAY THEY ARE A WASTE OF MONEY DONT BUY SAVE FOR THEM Ground Controls OR SKUNK2s

Any questions? Btw ill be leaving em in to see how long they will last. Bets? 5k miles 10k?

Its hard to read all that with no punctuation, man.

Ground Control makes springs and sleeves...not shocks.

There are coilovers available for a *little* more than what you spent that will ride very comfortably, last a long time, and make no noise.

I'm guessing your combo was $250? 300? Tein SB's are like $450.

Happened in my 94 del sol. Just finished putting in some other cheap struts by maxpeedingrods. A lot better than the dna.
