Re: Road Racing / Autocross / Time Attack Picture Post!!!
Here's a few videos and pictures from two recent events we did, one in Michigan at Gingerman Raceway for Gridlife and the other was an open track day at Pocono Raceway for Import Expo. I actually ended up breaking a 949 racing wheel but i dont have any video footage of the incident, hope you guys enjoy.

Ouch, that looks like a gen3! I thought only the gen2 broke like that.
Gotta pay to play really, it seems. Quality wheels are expensive, but less expensive than a crash. I think I'll forget about 6ul wheels.

Driver Mod, lol just kidding but honestly i'm not sure. I was just making a turn the way i normally do and next thing i know I lose all steering and see my rim bouncing next to me.
I think it has something to do with heat. The wheel was powder coated and maybe the heat from racing couldnt escape from the rim and cause the metal to crack but because i was taking a turn the force against the cracked rim caused the weaker part to give out. I'm thinking of it like when you crack a sleeve in a block.

Yeah i'd play it safe and get different wheels.

I hear you that's a good idea and thank you, luckily there wasn't any serious damage and the car should be up and running in 3 weeks at Palmer Motorsports Park.

No, it's Giants' Despair Hillclimb in Wilkes-Barre, which was this past weekend (PVGP Historics were going on at PittRace). The PVGP races at Schenley Park are this coming weekend. I will be in attendance as a spectator.

Wow...3geez is still a thing?! Cool. I miss my '89 LXi dearly.
Glad you got out there and got to try a TNiA event. Do you remember who the workers from SCCA were? TNiA is a great way to see what driving on track is all about. If you like it, you should really look into trying a school with an organization like NASA or Chin. It'll improve your driving, establish good on-track habits and get you more comfortable (and safe) with other cars on track.

Me (black coupe) and my friend Marc (white hatch) went to Palmer Motorsports Park last weekend. It was a lot of fun but I got black flagged for excessive noise so you'll notice during the team session I lose speed in turn 5 (uphill part), turn 8 (down hill part), and the front straight. I was shifting at 6k and giving it half throttle in these areas trying to drive the car quieter since track officials told me this was where they have the dB meters but that didn't work and I got black flagged again towards the end of that session lol.

Yea, 3geez is still a thing but the forum gets a lot less traffic opposed to the Facebook page. I guess it's just a sign of the times because I notice a lot less traffic here compared to 5-6years ago.
I can't remember who our "instructor" was but it was a she, and she seemed extremely knowledgeable and easy to approach with questions. I absolutely loved the event and I want to do it again with my '88 LXi instead of my daily driver '08 Accord. I was pretty tentative the first run and just tried to get a feel for the car. I definitely ramped it up the next couple sessions but the idea of it being my daily driver lurked in the back of my head. But overall, I'd like to get involved with a school to learn more and make this a more regular thing. Is there one you recommend over another?
