It's back and ugly as ever.

However, Sebastian Vettel was able to complete an installation lap at Silverstone with the tweaked head protection design at the start of first free practice.

The Halo 2 is a lighter and reprofiled version of the original Halo that appeared at pre-season testing at Barcelona.

The shape has been changed slightly to ensure there is no risk of a driver hitting his head on the structure in the event of an accident, and the final version will be made of titanium to bring down the weight.

Anyone know if these extraction tests included the car upside down? If the car is on its lid I can't see how a driver could get out without first having to flip it over or at least rock the car onto its side. I guess that is a low percentage event doe. The narrow roll hoop would tend to make the car lean 1 way or the other. Still it seems sketchy.

Maybe Tim is doing it to grind your gears but I am just amused at all the pictures of Juan with funny/crazy expressions.
