Should just have a tire that the drivers can beat on. No matter who the supplier is.

Wasn't it you that suggested to go back to the large tunnels under the car and change up to simple small wings? Sprinkle in some fat *** tires and more mech grip and everyone will be happy, right?

I thought we had agreed on this for years and thus welcomed the change in regs for 2009 when we all complained the front wing looked goofy.

nope i am against diffuser aero - that was whoever i was arguing with

i want simple, active wings with ample room for sponsors.

Large diffuser aero (like the ground effect car days) can cause the same following issues that wings cause. Relying to much on air no matter how it is done will inevitably cause the wake to have less disturbed air.

das me.

After listening to Frank Dernie speak* on the subject, I'm a bit more like falcong sr these days. mini-ish wings and flat bottom.

*I'll dig up the convo if you want to know what he thinks.

According to P Lowe, the tunnel cars are actually worse than the winged cars for following. Why? Coz of how quickly the air wants to refill the void of the car. He says (coz science) that the wake behind a tunnel car isn't "charged" enough and thus has a messy wake for longer. So the following cars aero surfaces deal with shittier air further back. Paraphrasing, but thats the gizzt of it.

The best thing was to have a rear wing as we did, but refine it by having it narrower and higher. The reason is that the flow structures and the two vortices at the top of the two endplates are very strong energisers of fresh flow to re-energise the wake, whereas if you have no rear wing you end up with a very messy wake that hangs around. These two vortices bring in fresh air from the sides and dispel the low energy wake that's there. So actually you need a strong rear wing and, adjusting a few parameters, you can make it even more effective. That was unexpected.

It'll b better than it has been. The engine regs being moar open will help and the cars will look better. Prob the best we could have hoped for.

cliffs: we don't want the rear car to get a tow so we throw air at it and the air is still dirty enough to prevent close following in corners.

There is a large cluster of storms southwest of you and a few to the northwest. The ones to the northwest are closer. Nothing on radar in your immediate area is strong.

Does outrun use a flipphone that doesn't have a connection to the internet?

Outrun: "I see storms over there, whats going on"
1158: "It's stormy in the areas you described"
Outrun: "Oh"

Fabricated passing blows just as much as not being able to follow close enough to set up a pass.
Less aero will likely result in slower cars though. There are plenty of slower series that have a lot of mechanical grip and are still boring as **** to watch.

I saw lets leave the aero/grip levels where they are and just give the cars 1500hp. Let the driver's ability to put the power down be the deciding factor.

Modern wings can fail too when things are not manufactured or designed correctly:
