I agree. It doesn't stick out as much as like red or orange, more stealth. And honestly you have more wheel options with silver IMO. But I think the stock wheels look beautiful already. I will not be ricing this thing out. I want stock looks with heavy performance focus, sleeper status.

I still think the 2008 Mugen Si in blue is the best looking civic ever made, but there goes your sleeper status, that thing is a cop and ricer magnet.
If you wanna go the riced out method silver still looks solid too. What year is this one? Looks different (the front end)

Ahh ok. It really helps make the car look more modern. I think the last good looking civic. 2012 and up have slowly gotten uglier. The new civic looks like an Accord.

One thing I have noticed. The clutch feel stiff, hard to press in and makes a like "crunch" sound when almost fully pressed to the floor, it's hard to explain but does not matter the gear or if the car is even running, the clutch makes the same kinda like CRUNCH/Creaky sound.

 

they're like that after a while if not just like that, my friends does that everytime he shifts......vroooom.....*creeak*.....vrooom all the time

 

Is there a fix? The internet seems to say I need a new master clutch cylinder? Is that an expensive fix? If it does not pose any immediate issues rather than a crack/creek sound I guess I can live with that.

 

im sure it wont give any immediate problems right away but something's clearly worn out, its got to do with the pedal.

 

It's kind of embarrassing if I have a girl or a friend in the car and we are trying to chat and the clutch is like "creeeak".

i noticed my friend turns the music a little louder lol, but yea i say take a look a the pedal press it and try tracking down the noise could be the ignition lock switch making that noise, im starting to think it might be the clutch master cylinder

 

Its likely a clutch master cylinder that needs replacement. Or a cracked pedal mount.

Look under the dash. Is the pedal mount cracked? If not, buy a CMC.

I have had an Exedy CMC in my TSX now for years. It randomly will click for a day every once in a blue moon. Then its dead silent again. I bought it from Rockauto.

I believe you can use an EM2 CMC to cure this. An EM2 is a 01-05 civic NON si model. Search to see if that CMC works on a 09 Si.

A helpful tip would be to use a hanger or some sort of rope to fish the yoke through the firewall. The CMC is tucked way up in the car's gutz. You'll need to remove the cowl. I ended up laying on top of the engine for most of the install. It took me about 30-45 mins the first time I attempted it (including bleeding the clutch).

Lube the clevis pin with polyurea grease.

The car that I used to have had a problem with the clutch. Some jackwagon used anti sieze on the throw out bearing guide. This ended up distorting the guide badly. In the winter, I could push the clutch down, put the trans in gear, and let the clutch go completely. It took about 5 seconds for the disk to follow the pedal.

So I could sit there idling for 5 seconds until the clutch actually engaged. I had to remove the clutch and sand down the bearing guide until it was smooth. And then use the correct (honda polyurea) grease.

 

Changing the CMC is PITA on these models like B serious mentioned. I had a EM1 CMC on mine and it was so noisy that I had to go back to a original cmc. But then again my car had 148k on the original clutch. The clutch plate felt really stiff compared to my other cars.
Also you can mod the OEM slave cylinder for better engagement feel.

I am unsure. Does it look lowered? I thought the same. I can barely fit 1 finger in the front between the wheel and fender. But the car feels stiff, not bouncy at all. I will take pics of the springs.

There really is not much clearance at all from the wheel and fender. Can only fit one finger and I have skinny fingers.

VTech kicks in at 5800RPM. This can be modified via a Hondata Flashpro, something you're going to want anyway once you get moving on your engine mods.

We're in the same boat, though I'm much older: 45. I bought my SI for a fun car and that's what I'm doing. Tired of driving auto trans, wanted more driver involvement. I'm actually considering some autocross, even.

 

With OEM shock yes... with upgraded shock I would Neuspeed Sports or Race for stiffer more feel.

 

How low do the neuspeeds go? Do these cars not have a big issue with shock travel like all previous civics?

 

I dunno why anyone would wanna go lower. I have already scraped a couple times and it is embarassing pulling out of a dip slowly at an angle. But again I do not understand the whole stance nation thing.
