You might find this cool. I did a weather balloon launch the other day when I was working with the National Guard. Part of my IMET kit includes the ability to launch radiosondes. Made it to 83k ft.

Are you familiar with skewT plots?
yesh. Very handy, especially in the winter time if in a piston airplane.

I want to know if the stewards gave him a penalty for exceeding the stage limits.

Shows the strength of the mid level ridge, subsidence inversion.

LOL

Subsidence = downward motion
Inversion = temperature increasin with height
As air is lifted it cools and moistens just the opposite happens with downward motion warm and drys. Laws of physics must be obeyed.

All it means to me is that if I'm about to go up in a piston airplane with a weak anti-ice game, and it's 34F and raining on the ground, have no fear because it's sunny warm and clear skies just a few thousand feet up.

That would be a different type of inversion. Trapped low level cold air which is more dense and is not easy for a warmer air mass to displace. They usually result in cold dreary days. The inversion in the sounding I posted was due to mid level high pressure resulting in downward motion warming and drying the air. That inversion typically results in beautiful days without a cloud in the sky.

The broad stroke of certification covers a broad range of FIKI confidence... I feel a lot better in the Lear when I get an ICE DETECTED CAS message and just throw all the heats on... other than a hit to the performance, it gets rid of it all in a hurry.

Not quite as confident in something like a Meridian...

Toyota in the pits. Only a few guys "over the wall". Eventually just the fuel man is there holding the filler in place.

Seems so much more laid back than F1.

Well F1 needs no fuel lol. WEC can only has 1 air gun over the white line at a time. Also no other work can be done while refueling.

I'm in urgent care. Started feeling a weird sensation on right ankle Thursday night like an itch but when I went to scratch it it was tender and painful. Also, red patch on inner right thigh that felt like a bruise when pressed. There's a lump underneath but I think it's the iliopsoas or pectineus.

Friday the pain extended upward and around from the ankle to the calf. The area turned red and pressing anywhere in the red was painful. It felt like I had a tight *** sock on.

Saturday the pain is worse. Walking or getting up to stand hurt. I left work early today. I was afraid it might be DVT as my world lit teacher in HS had similar symptoms for a few days before collapsing and dying at home.

Doc just looked at me and thinks it's a skin infection. He asked if I was bit by a bug or animal recently or if I'm allergic to pets. I said no. He has a nurse give me a shot in the ***. It effin hurt. I got light headed so I've been laying down on exam bed. I think nurse will check on me in 10 minutes before letting me go. I have to go back tomorrow for reevaluation. I was given oral antibiotics to take every 6 hours. If I have to miss Road America next weekend then oh well.

Don't know how to post pic from phone. Otherwise I'd post a pic of my leg.

don't post pics of your leg. Hope you feel better.

I woke up and Kamui is in 3rd. the dream is over.

11am Anthony Davidson has put the no.5 Toyota in a strong position to challenge for outright victory at Le Mans after a stellar stint saw him catch and pass the no.2 Porsche of Marc Lieb. Davidson hunted down and passed the Porsche almost bang on the 20 hour mark and immediately began to put some distance between the cars. He now leads by a minute. A heavy crash from Mathew Rao’s Manor into the Porsche curves then brought about a yellow flag situation but that played further into Davidson’s hands as a 25 second lead stretched to 46 seconds. Behind the lead duo there was drama as Kamui Kobayashi spun coming out of the Porsche curves, the Japanese driver lucky not to beach in the gravel to retain slim hopes of victory.
Nakajima now leads in the #5 with 2 hours to go. Paybacks...

Wow that mega sucks for Toyota. 3 min and change from a win and car stops. Ugh

Porsche swoops in and steals the win.

Nice job on the first lap by the F1 guys. No major incidents so far.
