** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
Yesterdays Updates/happenings
I had a customer who recently visited japan. He brought me back some memorable goods from his trip. I was totally stoked to receive these.
This decal is a comedic decal in response to having a low emission decal which is required to drive in JP. This decal basically states I have a high emissions vehicle.

From his visit to the spoon facility, the Type One decal :dancing:

Lastly this was so cool, I recall these from back in the day. A rare pole piston key.

Onto the non essentials. Since I will be using my upper console for gauges, this EK9 cupholder will come in handy. I will relocate my radio here or into the glove box. I also have one for sale if anyone needs one.

Today's update, I waited all day for this thing. A replacement BMC, going to work tomorrow bright and early! :dancing:

MPH cluster arrives.

I will bounce back slowly. I have most of the parts from Sir Ash and I got a good amount from the insurance company, just need a little more motivation, but I'll sure be back.
Hopefully in this thread you find motivation. I also hope you see that no matter what car you build it's best to use it and enjoy it because no matter what you do, we have no control of freak accidents and being victimized. We store away treasures and they still parish.
I do.
- If a thief steals it - run far and fast, because if I find you..... people will say no way that man's christian. By that time you should have had plenty of enjoyment, that stirred up his lust to take it.
- if it's destroyed in a collision from frequent use, you can reminisce on the good times.
- If you drive it every time saturn is visible to the naked eye and it's lost, then my friend you'd be left at a crossroad like this one. The loss feels greater, than success.

This thread and the family here are my motivation from the start.

yea I know I am looking for another Hood and passenger front door. I need to scrap the windshield cow. because all the left over residue . thanks!
Hey guys, I'm thinking about upgrading my brake lines. I'm not racing or anything, the car is for daily use. What brand do you guys recommend for replacement brake lines? TIA
Stoptech, Goodridge, Technafit, etc., are all pretty decent. Stay with the bigger name brands and choose your flavor. If you go oem style stick with oem. I've never been happy with the fit/finish on the aftermarket rubber lines.

Likewise Ash! Your car is one of the many clean examples that keep me motivated as well.

My Lazy update
Stil battling a brake pedal issue, I purchased and installed a new 1" BMC. Here's my on car bench bleeding setup, using old clutch lines HEHE.

Once I had that bled, I went back over all my brake components and lines making sure all were air tight. Glad I did because what I found over the weekend with my new reman centric calipers were a huge surprise. The fort caliper sliding pins were quite dirty.:sis:

I apologize for the poor pics. After some brake clean, and a few pumps in and out, followed by regressing the pin, It was all clean and operating smoothly. I repeated this all 4 corners, flipped rear calipers and re-bled my system. The bottom picture shows the scoring from the debris on the pin. Anyway, I drove my car around for a bit, brake feel was improved but not where it should be. The pedal still goes to the floor. I will check the ABS light code tomorrow ( popped up today ) and go from there followed by another bleed when I have time.

edit:
Forgot I also installed my spherical FLCAS

Onto the non-essentials, I have no will power, I keep wasting money

CTR E-Brake Handle

bought some hotwheels from target
LOLOL
Let's do some trading hehe.
My Updates.
Thanks to Nemos Garage I made another part purchase, but it's needed. Motul brake fluid and the FLP. My old V1 style shifter interferes with the climate control. I'm very happy to have supported another local friend and shop, as well as the original designer of FLP and purchase the V2 EK compatible shifter.
Being tied up with work ( and engine overhaul and transmission mods for a client ) I took my moment of down time to sort my brake issue. The ABS codes were triggered by a dead relay. I swapped that out earlier in the week, today I used my free time to bleed the system once more ( 6th time ). Following that I went for a test drive, getting the abs to activate sent tingles up my back - I was getting closer, I thought; Locking the rear brakes via e-brake was also improving pedal feel. Lastly I adjusted the push rod of the booster to BMC and viola!!! I finally found resolve in my issue. :dancing:

photos of joy! fingers to the haters, yes you know who you are.

strutting her stuff at the alignment spot.

GMG!!! Happy Fathers Day to all my Daddys out there!
Thanks BC! Still have a long way to go, but she's up and running. I'm ecstatic about that.
Boring update, a update nevertheless.
The beater in all her glory set out for her first drive yesterday. We attended the Nemos Garage Grand Opening. I was trying to get the piping done, but the Muffler shop said he's closing early and he did not want to do it until monday. We mobbed open header and all.
After a successful drive, we made it there and back. She's a gas guzzler, definitely needs piping and a tune.

Earlier that day, I made a lil progress on cutting out the circle shifter tunnel cover.

IDK about looked good, it's really a terd, but she's my terd. LOL Maybe in due time I'll accept that compliment, for now, we keep it 100. She's a heap hahaha. I do share your feelings for the wheels though.
I have some pics of your car too, hopefully I can post it by tonight.

Not into the poked wheel fitment but I think they look great otherwise. What are you thinking about doing for paint? I think the current front end color would look great on the whole car!
Poke? I guess we have a different views of poke. That's totally ok. The rear sit perfectly with the rear. The front is kicked out an additional 10-15mm due to the DC2 subframe, LCAs, Rack n Pinion. I have no wheel spacers, nor a crazy offset.
It would sound hypocritical if I said I disliked blue, but I do to an extent. I have plans to keep the car black, but I've been tossing ideas around with other colors.

Joel, looking good!! Can't wait to see the final product. What hotwheels are you looking for? I have quite a bit as well as some extras :-P
