Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
Well...in the process of planning out the new interior that i'm trying to build almost entirely out of trade and selling parts to buy parts, nothing out of pocket. Vi-RS LHD everything with non folding back seat. Recover everything that is the blue/black with a VW GTi plaid and black suede the bolsters. Accord Euro-R front seats with replacing the "green" with GTi plaid. black suede headliner and sunroof cover, all black interior plastics and dash, CTR arm rest delete, paint/dye the Acura EL console black to match, black carpet kit which I already have, and I think that's it.
Any input?? I know the plaid is more euro, but i just don't love OEM honda patterns, and I think solids would just be a little to...blah.

ASH - what a sad sight to see. Glad it doesn't look that bad. Me personally I would have had it repaired professionally. I do like you starting with a new canvas. I definitely vote doing the facelift. I love your car very much, and it wouldn't be the same any other way. Here's the cool part, if you stay pre-face lift you can get sir bumpers and that black and red combo is lovely too.
Judging by the cleanliness of your car, to keep the "essence" of you and your build, you must remain facelift.
COBB - That's one of those things you just have to put into action. To not be a fan of one interiors for a sedan is a tough thing to say, but we all have our own tastes. I suggest opt out for the basic ITR seats. It's the subtle clean and in between.
Updates: To resolve my brake issue I've confirmed booster is bad and a have replaced it. I've also replaced the check valve line. The pedal sinks to the floor, I will now have to replace the master. It's rare but if I continue to have issues next will be the prop valve.
My replacement carpet has arrived, and I'm stoked to get my interior. It will definitely be after I get the brakes sorted and car tuned. That is priority.

I thought about doing that with the basic ITR seats, but I like how the Recaro Sport holds me in place, sits a bit lower, and fits my slightly wider frame as well as any Recaro can. I've been in touch with the interior shop i'm gonna be using, and we are talking over the idea. The material on my headliner is coming down because the last guy to replace my windshield cut the headliner fabric where it folds over, so...I'm a little irked, but it is what it is. It's coming down this weekend, and then I need to yank out the sunroof to pull the cover out and get that recovered as well. I'll be dying the handle black and the visor clips and stuff to match, so that should be a nice little project to hold me over.
Also hoping to get the baffle done for the new subwoofer mount, so we'll see how productive I am on Sunday.

HAHA...will do. I'm currently just frustrating myself with all the projects going on simultaneously, it's getting ridiculous.

Great choice all around; Color and specs.

I grabbed the basic option. It wasn't about being cheap, but after reading various application reviews I decided to go without the backing. It seems the carpet is easier to work with that way. It also fits closer to "stock" w/out the backing. Lastly, it's less weight.

Thank you Jojo. As I was stripping the car yesterday, I came to realize how clean the car and the parts were. It's too late to put the car back together and it wouldn't be the same if I get it repaired. For sure, I will miss this car, but the time has come (although it wasn't my choice) to start a new project.

Cant believe they called that totaled. Its cosmetic, i bet the trunk doesn't even leak. totaling a perfectly driving car. ugh. nice score on the green one, the hood isnt even faded.

Was parked at a friend's place and the person across the street hit me moving their cars around the driveway and didnt even have the guts to tell me. My paint was on their bumper and everything. Hoping insurance works everything out.

Well now that wasn't so hard...ugh!!!
Also started working on the new audio setup, we'll see how it looks when it's all done. Thick baffle bolted to chassis braces bolted to stock mounts = more bracing, haha.

Did you bench bleed the master before replacement? You can bench bleed it while on the car. Brakeexpert posted about it before.

Thanks. The trunk actually was pushed in and was stuck. The car did perfectly drove fine, yup just cosmetic. The green one is great, the front bumper is the only part of the car that is faded.

Can't wait to see it unfold. I hate to be nosey, but I just want to make sure you will walk away and bounce back? are the insurances company helping you break even? I hope so!
Wow man, great to see your still around and still have your sedan! I like the new shoes. We'll new since I seen it last.

Me likey.
No sir, bled it on car. The awkward part is, new booster and old MC, felt firmer then newer MC and new booster. I hope the new BMC arrives any moment now.
Could my fault be using a non ABS 290V booster be a contributing factor ( keep in mind, pedal feel it was a lot better w/ the old MC )?
I also fear I may be dealing with a faulty caliper and or failing prop valve, as rare as the prop failure may be.

everyone's looking good!
The woman that hit my car owned-up to it and everything's getting repaired through insurance, thankfully costing me nothing. Hopefully they repair the rust in my rear quarter panel too
