OP - I removed the invoice because it contained your person info. It's best to protect your identity on the internet.

You can just post a link to the product you bought rather than the invoice with your personal info.

Thanks BC.

thread like this are all over the net. go back to stock, or for the cheapest possible upgrade, retrofit a 94-01 integra shifter.

OP needs to read up on the VX.

It isn't your average engine. Most exhaust components won't bolt right up unless its axel-back. Your cat is part of your exhaust manifold (header) so if you put an after market header on you'll need to add a cat. You can't put a cat-back exhaust on because your cat isn't where the other EG cats are located.

YOU DON'T OWN A RACE CAR. You purchased a car with the potential to get +50mpg! It's a gas-sipper and was built to perform that way. Anything you do to it will kill its economy and NOT add power.

A DX comes with 106hp stock. You won't get close to that from a VX. Engine swap or force induction are your only options. At 250,xxx miles that engine is probably not the best platform for FI.

So swap it or sit back, drive 55mph and get 50mpg. Enjoy your tortoise.

Great. Maybe next time you won't tell someone, who didn't forget what they were talking about, what they were talking about.

And it's VTEC-E.

I looked for a GSR shifter but couldn't find one right off and honestly didn't remember if that was exactly what was used so I stopped looking. If I can find one I'll snag it and swap it in, but I'm not paying $100 for some DC shifter.

Last question:

Is there a goot How-to on replacing the clutch? I've not done one while the motor was in a vehicle before (FWD) and I would rather not disassemble more than I need to. I know the axles need to come out and so on but I would like to know exactly what I'm doing to save time.

Every Integra has a dual bend shifter. A stock Civic will work as well.

An integra shifter doesn't bolt into a civic. To put it into a D series linkage, you'd need to cut through the bushing. Meh. Nah.

For a B series, buying an Integra shifter and linkage is a no-brainer (you need to modify the bar a bit for an EM1).

The integra shifter is better than all of the aftermarket shifters I can think of.

The Skunk2 shifter is a decent piece.

I still can't seem to find a GSR shifter... am I missing something here?!? I did however get my Energy Suspension shifter bushings ordered! I'm on the lookout for an EX/SI tranny now as well, hopefully I can locate one before the weekend and install it at the same time I do the clutch :D

why would you want to mis-match that setup?

You can get 50+mpg with that setup.

If you want something with more power you're gonna have to do Z6 or even better base B-H-K etc.

Just wondering if you know what you're getting into or just throwing parts at it..

The bushings will be a nice upgrade, especially over what is probably original. I would leave the transmission alone.

If you really want to I would swap a single v-tech ZC with matching transmission later on.

Yeah, my ES Shifter bushings made iffy shifts into never-miss (just jinxd myself *knockwood*)

And yeah, a ZC would also be great, and usually under a grand at the Richardson Tx Engine importer place. (they ship)

Watching this thread just breaks my heart.

The VX is a very rare breed and there is so few of them left.

This is one low power car I would not modify. It's the only other trim that retains it's value like the Si. Maybe even more so as the gas prices continually rise.

Oh well, another rare bird being slaughtered for chicken wings.

Personally, I would keep the VX and buy another hatch to modify. Especially if you got the VX for anything under 2500.

Well alright then... I guess it's time to leave the damn thing alone

I'm still going to do the shifter until I can find the "correct" one to swap out for the butchered one, and the bushings I'll swap obviously but you all have convinced me to just leave it alone. I'll keep a lookout for another hatch now (******* bug bit me) and just plan for it. In the mean time clutch should be here in a few days and I'm getting ready to take it to the car wash and start the process of cleaning/detailing it and giving it a proper tune-up!

Ok, so help me get started then if I did so badly on my own... can someone help me source a damn GSR shifter please? The BS eBay one I ordered I can at least save the bearings out of to use in the GSR shifter so that's not a loss. So help me find a cheap GSR shifter to shave down.

Try a JDM importer. Ask for an integra 94-01 integra linkage with the shifter. Or just the shifter.

Its not a GSR shifter. Its any 94-01 Integra shifter. The ITR's is silver. The rest are black. They're all the same shape.

Good plan, the CX and DX hatches are a dime a dozen and ripe for modification. They don't hold their value nearly as well and can actually be worth more after mods if done right.

In reality, finding a virgin DX or CX might be more challenging than you think just because of the value retention or lack there of so everyone mods them.
