Great progress so far and keep up the good work of getting it back to where it should be! Where in New York are you?

Nice! Only a couple of hours away from me - I'm around Syracuse. Hmm maybe i'd be interested in those mats if you still have them, message me a price if you're still looking to sell them. If you're ever looking for other parts let me know, I've got a bunch of random stuff laying around.

Sorry for lack of updates. I installed the exhaust system i also ended up buying a test pipe to replace the cat because the original exhaust and cat was welded together and i wanted a direct bolt on setup. I just ordered the exterior door handles and a full set of lock cylinders so i won't have to have different keys for the doors and ignition or trunk. Im hoping ill be able to remove the sheet metal that was welded to door to block off the hole for the shaved door kit. Rather then just buying replacements doors. The handles were only $15 the lock cylinder set was only $45 on eBay. It comes with the full ignition harness.

My original plan was to get new doors and i still might. The reason I'm trying to refit the handles first (instead of buying a door) is I'm a broke high schooler lol. If it doesn't work I'm only out $15 and and still have new door handles. If all else fails ill end up buying doors. Another reason is because it makes it easier to paint in the future i won't have to take the doors off to color match them. Thanks ill have more updates soon.

Hows the ebay catback treating you? Being in the salt belt no point in investing too much into exhaust parts.

Its a lot louder then i was hoping for. Its almost as loud as it was before with the pipe rusted out about 2 feet after the cat. Its a lot quieter at idle but pretty much just as loud at about 3k and up. I don't have the car on road so i can't drive it to see how much it will drone and stuff but i can imagine it will be pretty bad. I ordered a silencer hopefully that helps a little bit. If not i might buy a stock muffler or put the cat back in. I should be getting the silencer tomorrow so ill update with how loud it is and make a before and after video.

How big is the piping? With that 4" tip the silencer will probably help alot.

If you do buy a new muffler look into twin loops, that and a longer resonator can give you a deeper / quieter tone.

It's the stock 2.25" and thanks ill look into them. I definitely agree about the longer resonator. On my other car a 01 impala with a v6 the resonator is like 2.5' and it sounds like a electric car compared to the honda.

Unfortunately i didn't get the silencer today. It seems like everything coming in the mail via USPS is delayed a day from its estimated delivery unless its priority mail. So hopefully i get it tomorrow. The door handles should also be here tomorrow but probably won't be here until Saturday or Monday lol.

Just realized last owner shaved interior AND exterior door handles... that and ruined that nice smooth 93' dash/ glovebox. What a monster.... glad your giving this car the second chance it deserves.

It really did. The door handles should be here within the next couple hours hopefully ill be able to refit them correctly. If it comes out successful i will buy the new interior door handles and cables. Hoping for the best I really don't want to buy new doors.

I started working on the driver side door handle heres some pics.

From the inside of door i used a hammer on the sheet metal welded and gave it a few good wacks to crack the bondo so i had a general idea on where i would need to cut and remove the paint/bondo

This is the view from the inside.

I started to chip away the bondo here

I then drilled a hole from the inside through the screw hole that the handle goes into. Just so i can have a general starting point to start cutting.

Here is a rough cut out of it. I messed up in a couple spot by over cutting.

I neglected to take pics but i ended up doing some grinding to get the handle to sit flush inside. Also used a angle grinder to remove the bondo any where it was cracked. Then i put some new bondo with fiber glass on the door and overlapped the hole where the the handle will go some what excessively so i will have some to sand down until is smooth and even with the new door handle in.
I will have more pics and updates as i continue to work on it.

Well i didnt have a big air bag inside buutttt i bought all the interior out of a 94 Del Sol that has the big air bag and it deployed so now i have to either buy the new air bag just for looks or make something else out of it but i want it to look clean and original so i probably will end up buying the airbag when i can find one for cheap.

That door handle... i cri ery tiem

Ive seen the dash airbag converted to fire extinguisher storage, kinda ricey but looks pretty clean if done right. Nothing beats a OEM 93 dash though imho

People also sell online a carbon fiber tray that has the same shape like the airbag, but is used as a tray.
