Hello all,
Any advice on how to proceed with the following codes / issues?

SRS - Code #51 - Internal Failure of SRS Unit. I've replaced the faulty clockspring, seatbelt buckle and have reset the system. It went a few days without the light and came back on. Now the reset procedure results in two blinks and the light stays on. Anything to try before replacing the SRS Unit?

ABS - Main Code 1, no sub code - Pump Motor Overrun, other component Pressure Switch. Haven't done anything about this one. It is an intermittent problem where the pump turns on at startup, turns off 5-10 seconds later and the ABS light comes on. Happens about a quarter of the times the car is started.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I love this car and want to get it to as perfect running as I can. I know it will be a classic one day so I'm keeping it forever!

I don't have the factory service manual for your Del Sol. That's why I asked whether you have it.

It would be best if you purchased one. Check eBay.

In the meantime, I'll post the procedure for 96-98 Civics. It is likely similar for your car.

Thank you for the help Ron. Just got a Helms from eBay. Will start looking for the SRS unit. Any idea if these are interchangeable between certain year Civics / Integras?

 

What did you do to reset the SRS light the first time? I've been trying to reset mine for months and can't get it to reset.

 

I first replaced the clock spring, then the seat buckle and now the SRS unit. Never had three issues with one system... made it tough to troubleshoot. All good now! Good luck with yours, feel free to ask any questions.

 

Do you know what caused yours? Mine came on after I replaced the cluster light bulbs and to test out the lights, I turned my accessory on without plugging the SRS light plug back in and it set it off. I've tried every method I could find of pulling the codes and resetting it and still nothing. I might have to just take it down to a Honda dealership to have them look at it. I just hate to pay a bunch to reset a light that I could do myself.

As for your ABS Code 1, Google this for a DIY on a Prelude unit. IF the problem is a pump that doesn't sound raspy, then follow the DIY. Otherwise, step through the troubleshooting document above.

 

Yes. I've done various methods of the jumper wire in the yellow MES plug under the dash attached to the fuse box and nothing at all happens.
