Default 98 civic - Fuse #44 blows when key is turned to on

Hello guys I'm new to Honda tech. I recently got into an accident in my 92 civic eg. So I purchased a 98 civic and swapped my motor over. The 92 eg was running perfectly fine after the crash. I purchased an eBay jumper harnes and my 98 civic started after the zc swap but was running bad low idle/die out and I could not give it much throttle input . It threw code 4 for the ckp so I decided to remove the eBay jumper and try to use an obd2 ecu( I believed it was the cheap eBay harness) but when I turn the key to on the fuse 44 blows with the obd2 ecu.
- if I unplug ecu connector (A)it dose not blow (blows as soon as I plug back in)
-it also does not blow when I remove the engine bay connector c101 (I believe it's c101 sorry small connector in engine bay by clutch cylinder)also blows a soon as I plug it in . Any help would be greatly appreciated I know it's a short some where but I'm lost at this point

OP - Does unplugging connector C101, C130, or C116 prevent fuse 44 from blowing?

Hello Ron thank you for the reply . Yes if I unplug connector c101 the fuse does NOT blow. It also does not blow if connector A is unplugged

This^ suggests that the ECU may be bad.

hello Ron I replaced the ecu and the fuse does not blow now. But the car will not start.
-I tried to start it with a obd2-obd1 jumper to p28 and it starts just has code 4 for ckp car has bad idle and it sounds like 2 step when I try to give it gas.

i know the ckp is in the dizzy but my motor was running perfectly fine before the swap. So could it be wiring related/bad harness?

If you reset the ECU, does code 4 return?

Ohm test the CKP sensor from OBD1 ECU connector B. Measure resistance (Ohms) between ECU connector pins B15 and B16. The reading should be 350-700 Ohms.

You did the test correctly. Now do the same test, but use the two CKP pins in the unplugged distributor connector.

It tested at 384 ohms.

Reconnect the distributor connector.

Remove the OBD1-OBD2 conversion harness. What resistance do you measure between the two CKP pins (C2 and C12) in OBD2a ECU connector C?

161 Ohms is oddly low, but we'll deal with that later. However, the testing so far indicates that one problem is with the conversion harness. In the removed conversion harness, Ohm test (end-to-end continuity) the two CKP wires.

The problem may be bad pin contacts in the conversion and distributor connectors. Reconnect all connects. Make sure they're fully seated. Then redo the first Ohm test with pins B15 and B16 in OBD1 ECU connector B.

I will test these when i get home. Could I wire the ckp straight from the harnes to the connector ?

Sure, but I'd redo the test to see whether the Ohm reading changes.

Suggests a poor connection at one or both CKP pins of the conversion harness or distributor connector.

Post pictures of the wires you are Ohm testing in the OBD1 ECU connector.
