ATX, SATX, Dallas and Houston metros aren't cheap no mo. Good economies, lots of good wages, and population growth = high real estate.
But definitely ATX is the crown jewel of bullshit real estate in the state.

Yo blue, which of those Fits do you like better?
Also, which is safer, Fond du Lac or Sheboygan? I'm looking for a hotel/motel to stay in.

Pirelli World Challenge race at Road 'murica in June. All the hotels in Plymouth have been sold out since the race was announced last year.

It was the Bosch Spark Plug Grand Prix sponsored by Toyota - a champ car race at the 1 mile tri-oval at Nazareth, PA. Every place I drove to told me they were booked. Some even laughed at me...Eventually I went to an "Inn" that turned out to be a bar...The bartender told us of the "Airport Motel" so we went and checked it out.
There was no lobby and the 'front desk' was behind bulletproof glass. We rang the bell and spoke to an indian woman with a german shepard. We opted for the daily rate instead of the hourly rate and in a few minutes we had the keys to our room for the weekend. We were a little disappointed when we found out all the buttons on our TV were missing, but that wouldn't matter much as we didn't plan to stay in the room. The headboards on the bed had graffiti carved into them. I added my own "Tim slept here" with an arrow pointing to the pillow - which had more than a few cigarette burns in it. The parking lot had a lovely view of the cemetery next door and the stack of coffins along the fence:
Google Street View
Cliffs: the place was a dump. We still had a great time doe. We went to a bar near the track (Al's Front Porch) that night where Marlboro was having simulator contests. I scored a couple of pit passes from the rep and brought home a fancy Marlboro Penske leather jacket for setting fastest lap. A guy wearing Miller Lite zubaz pants placed second and congratulated me.
The following year we booked a real hotel but the race was post-poned due to snow. It was karma for not staying at the Airport motel so the following year we booked the airport hotel again.

While Nazareth native Sage Karam and race fans have pleaded for the reopening of Nazareth Speedway, the track's sale to developer and turkey farmer David Jaindl has dimmed hopes for the return of a raceway that was the springboard to greatness for generations of Andrettis.
Jaindl, who confirmed on April 7 that he purchased the 157-acre property late last year, said that while he has no solid plans for the property, at least some of it will be used for farming. Northampton County assessment records show the speedway was officially purchased Nov. 13 by Raceway Properties LLC - the address for Jaindl Farms - from International Speedway Corp.'s subsidiary Pennsylvania International Raceway Inc.
When news of the sale broke, Karam made a plea on Twitter, saying "To the fellas who just bought Nazareth speedway can you please do the right thing and reopen the track. It's what Nazareth is known for."
IndyCar last raced at Nazareth in 2004.
"[Bringing the speedway back is] wishful thinking and I would support it 300 percent," Mario Andretti told the Lehigh Valley Express-Times in 2012. "People are passionate about it. There's an effort to try to get people energized through a lobby for it and maybe people want it, but that's a stretch. I wish it could be meaningful to some degree, where it would get some results. But, it takes more than that."
In the past year, Jaindl has announced plans to buy a former seminary in Lehigh Township and bought and restored Allentown soda company A-Treat. He recently presented plans for a land swap with nearby Upper Macungie Township that would allow development of a warehouse and apartment complex but could compromise 59 acres of open space preservation land owned by the township.

There is a facebook group trying to resurrect a local drag strip that has been closed for 30+ years right now. The property alone is worth a couple million nevermind the facilities that need to be completely replaced. Oh, and the site has a drainage issue that floods a large portion of the property and would need to be addressed.
These people are talking about selling t-shirts and taking donations.

I mean if I sell like 100 t-shirts for $20, that should cover most of it right? What about crowd funding? cant you become a millionaire that way? We could Import Night too.
Did Senna get on well with Mikey? I wonder if he tried to help him out. Mikey did say he was surprised when Senna was the first person to call to congratulate him after winning the 1994 IndyCar opener in Australia.
I've been getting the bottom barrel posts lately.
So #blessed gets a 5-place grid penalty. I did not know you can choose when to take the penalty as the article I seent said they chose China to take the painal-ty because it offers one of the better passing tracks this season.

They actually are scheduled to present to the village board in a month to get permission to reopen the property as a race track. I've asked a couple times what their proposal for funding is and gotten replies to the effect of "we'll worry about the funding after we get board approval."
