Saw this on IG this morning. Pathetic.

 

Sadly I was the last person besides the owner to see this car We'll find it. Question is if it'll be in one piece or not. Its been 3 days now... chances are its already in pieces.

Going to get my ITR running and may sell mine to him. We'll see.

 

Im still in the NYC/NJ area, been on the look out on CL. Shoot me a PM with some details on when/where it was taken from and what to look for.

Sorr for your loss dude. I had my R stolen twice since I've owned it. Third time is not a charm they say...

True story! I must be one of the lucky few. The first day that she got stolen I thought it was an April Fools joke (this happened on 4/1/2009). After I realized that she was really gone, I called the police and filed the report. Within a few hours I had Montebello PD (in LA) call me saying that they found my car (I live in OC). I was amazed! I thought she was a goner. MPD told me that they located my car via Lo Jack signal. When I initially bought my car, I didn't know it had Lo Jack installed and apparently the dealer I bought it from didn't know since they never told me. Anyway, the police got a warrant to enter the building where the signal was coming from and they found the car in the process of being stripped but adandoned. The police were curious why they didn't finish the job. My guess is they probably noticed the Lo Jack unit and abandoned the project? They only managed to steal my radio, steering wheel and steering wheel column. A lot of stuff was removed but they were still lying around by the car when the police found her. My insurance was able to put her back with OEM parts.

The second time it got stolen the police found my car a few blocks away! They only stole my front bumper and radio (again) and left engine oil all over my car. I'm assuming they were trying to prevent the cops from getting their fingerprints? In both cases, I was living as a tenant at someone else's house so I didn't get garage priveleges, though I did get to park in the driveway. After getting my car back the second time, I was getting very paranoid.

It just so happens that a week or two later, there was a third attempt. I actually kept a loaded gun within arms reach. It was in the early AM hours and my car alarm goes off! I quickly got up, turned on the lights and probably made a lot of noise as I was jumpy. The thieves took off before I got outside. At this point I could no longer sleep and every night thereafter. I don't remember how long it took for me to feel comfortable sleeping again but it was a long time. There was no 4th attempt thankfully. After getting a new car, I garaged her at my parents house as a weekend warrior.

As of today, she's back in my possession and for the most part safe. I need maintenance and registration tags. Every day I'll start her up for 10 mins and every so often will drive her around the block to loosen her up. This is how I ended up coming back to this forum because just recently I am trying to restore her. Someday she'll be back in action! I'd like to say she's safe for now but who knows!

Damn man. So rough.Something needs to be done about the thefts plaguing the Honda community. When I first got my raggedy civic I was paranoid asf,but have started to ease up fortunately. I have such a sensitive alarm,if you look At my car the wrong way it gives a few warning beeps.Its proved to be a bit of a nuisance,and I know these so called "pro" thieves could probably deactivate my **** within 10 seconds,still it's better than nothing.

It's a shame though,I'm hesitant to start my body work and get it looking nice and clean.
