** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
Last Saturday's project...Domani rear bumper swap. I'll post an after pic when it gets a bath. Paint shows signs of shipping, but it doesn't bother me, it's been shipped from Japan. Just need to get a set of Domani rear splash guards.
And another view of the front after a bath and then a rainstorm, BAHAH.

Mirrors are on the list, along with the appropriate trunk and tails. Just waiting for the right color. It's not that i don't want to paint it, I'm just the kind of guy that would rather it have been factory Cypress or Clover Green prior to repainting it all the same color. Thin side moldings are on the list as well.
Why not source 1.6 EL parts from Canada? likely a lot cheaper to ship from here.
Thought about it, but so far all of the parts were already in the US, except for the set of EL headlamps that I ordered; however, they were pretty messed up and all I needed were the reflectors, so they were cheap. Plus...I have yet to find a front end from a Cypress Green EL. Front end swap was affordable from the guy locally, and I am happy with it, plus...Domani. He's currently hunting for a trunk lid and thin moldings for me, so I'd like to keep buying from him...I guess I'm a loyal customer.
Actually Canada in some cases is the most expensive place for shipping, blame their border fees. I can ship to Australia for cheaper than over the border to Canada. Tis a shame too.

That being said, ELs are becoming an endangered species more and more every year, 5 years ago they seemed to be everywhere but it's starting to get to the point where you need to actually hunt for them at least on the east coast. #rustlife
Damn, didn't think it was that shitty both ways, though I've never run into bad shipping costs with high-volume vendors like Rock Auto so some companies must get customs/brokerage breaks.
It's sad too, because I just think it's a darned good looking car. Heated leather on some, heated power folding mirrors on some (iirc), that center console...all things we didn't get here...because...???
Yes, in the front i had to use a 3mm spacer and you can barely fit a piece of paper between the wheel and the caliper. Not to mention the caliper is so big it knocked off my wheel weights already. haha I'm going to take the wheels off and have them re balanced tomorrow and find somewhere else for the weights.
too sick!
for you 96-98 sedan guys, they started making the SiR sedan diecasts

I dont get it. Its a dedicated track car I assume, based on the cage and lack of interior, so why waste the money (and little weight) on a projector HID mod?
