How to do basic electrical troubleshooting tests (diagrams)
Some members don't understand how to measure voltage and resistance or how to test for a short or open in circuits.
What you need:
High-impedance digital multimeter - Buy one. It is not very expensive, yet is one of the most important tools for car work. Carefully read the instruction manual so that you know how to use your multimeter.
Circuit diagram - Found in your Civic/Del Sol service manual.
Electrical troubleshooting diagrams for the problem circuit or component - Found in your Civic/Del Sol service manual.
Knowledge of basic electrical tests - The diagrams below taken from the 96-00 Civic service manual describe these basic tests:
