HID retrofit club
Yeah it was a significant difference coming from the lenses that i had before which had enough tiny scratches in it to impede light output. Not only do these new ones make the appearance of the car cleaner overall (new headlights always do that) but i can tell more of the light is getting through because i dont see it reflecting off the lens as much as it did before.
Im using the lens off a halo too so if urs are not crystal clear like new i would suggest going that route. Be warned the aftermarket lights dont use the butyl like the oem so it'll be some silicone that wont melt into a goo. Just take ur time and heat evenly around then work one side up little by little.

Grrr... I hate putting my headlights in the oven. I'd pay someone to actually do it for me. That's how uncomfortable I am with baking the lights. I'll try to work up the courage to hopefully do it one last time. Can't go wrong with free halo headlights.
I prefer the heat gun method myself. More control and safer for the headlights. Would u rather warp a part of it or the entire thing? Overall the method was the same but i had to be more careful if i wanted to keep stuff for resale or use, if not then just go at it. I got mine pretty cheap so i could toss em if i really wanted. My set had silicone and it doesnt come off as easily as the butyl since it doesnt melt the same.
My friend is doin a retro into his benz lights and he has me do the separation for him.

with german cars, they are usually permaseal.. those you need to put in the oven.. the glue will wont really soften like butyl but will soften it enough to separate them..
Anyone been able to do the retrofit into a set of 96-08 CTR headlights and keep the city light?
I want to do the retro but not till I know if someone else has atleast attempted it

you can if you use the mini projectors using the mini gatling gun shrouds.. you could use other shrouds if you dont care if the city light gets covered but the light still shines through
is the mini h1 plug and play with all types of honda? even the newer models?
anyway, there's this company in the philippines, buzzheadlight.com. they got mini h1's, maybe worth looking for those who live nearby.

what im concerned about really is the mounting. the mini h1 is plug and play because of the h4 adapter. but what about other cars like 9006, 9007 etc. how do you lock them to the reflector? i think the mh1 comes with only the h4 adapater plate. so i was curious if all hondas are H4.
wont work with the adaptor on hondas.. the way honda clocked the lock tabs, its off center so the cutoff will be crooked.. you only use the lock nut and adjust the projector before you tighten the nut all the way down..
I just did my sir headlights with the city light.
Morimoto Mini H1 with 6000k HID's. Also changed the turn signal/Parking lights to LED

Just need to finish lining them up and get the car back on the ground.
Really nice kit and super easy to install

I used the adapter, but I took my die grinder to it and got rid of the flat spot. I wanted to keep it so it would tighten down nice and square.
I used a marker and made a couple centering lines on the bulb housing so it lined up straight and kept adjusting till I was satisfied.
