Change those cams to something else for 190+. Skunk2 Pro1s, Pro2s, Web cams, or ALL MOTOR's designed camshafts. That Brian Crower stuff is gonna just kill the head.

BTW. I LOVE THE WHEEL BOOT!!!

Oem bearings, Supertech Valve springs and retainers, Skunk2 stage 2 tuner cams/Pro 1's, Brand new oem head gasket will do just fine...everything else looks pretty good with the power goals you have in mind. Good luck with your build bro!

ACL will work fine as long as your tolerances are correct, i'm a fan of oem ones myself.

unless you are going to get the block align honed, use oem main bolts.

you are going to feel a significant loss in torque.. 190 is definitely doable but you will need head work and bigger cams to get you across that line. if i were in your shoes and worn cylinders was your main issue i would just pull and rebuild the block with an overbore and decent compression then move on to the head where most of the attention needs to be at. p&p head, dual vs and retainers, skunk2/blox b or hell maybe even stage3, itr/skunk2 manifold/blox. the setup i would chose would put you well over 190 and will keep the torque of the 89mm ls crank. acl bearings are fine as long as your clearances are good any other choice should be oem. i will never use king bearings for my personal reasons. a 50shot is easily do-able and up to your tuner if you should go more. on stock internals i wouldnt go over 100. if you really want to squeeze more ponies out of your setup opt to have your manifold fully ported and portmatched with your head and tb

My GSR makes 190/136 right now with CTR camshafts. Not even using an LS block. So yes it can be done. It wasn't cheap. A large camshaft will get you to your goals much easier.

ok here my problem with OEM bearings, im having the crank re ground and micropolished, do they make oversized OEM bearings... THANKS theshodan, but no brian crower stuff here, all i read it bad things about them... everyone dislikes the CTR cams, well they are better then GSR and i didnt have 600+ to dish out for cams. i plan to run these for a summer then upgrade... the motor will be ready for it, just gotta slap the cams in and tune it...

I will be using a GSR block for this build, no more LSV. I hurd that B16 heads flow just fine and dont really need an aggressive port and polish, like say a v8 would. Anyways me and my buddy that works at a machine shot spent 6hrs Slightly porting and polishing the head.

Does anyone know a link to using nitrous and how to gap the rings?
Should i upgrade my injectors?

and im having the block lined honed for the ARP main bolts... i have an aftermarket girdle so it needs to be done either way...

yes, honda has color codes for different sizes.

just get a measurement and cross reference it

(I hope you plan on getting your cams degree'd and not just slapping them in)

Edit: ring gap

bigger camshafts will easily net you 200+whp..

Why not use the LS crank that you have and stroke your gsr? WIN WIN situation for you.

how would i be destroking my motor when im using a GSR crank in a GSR block... and i would love to use my ls crank, its just i never planned to rip apart my lsv. and besides my GSR crank is at the machine shop... well if i pull my LS crank out and all it needs is to be micro polished then i will def do that...

my friend has almost the exact setup, except he still has his gsr cams.. all we did was instal p30 pistons and he got 186 whp on a dynojet
-stock bore
-stock head (no p/p)
-stock cams

190whp is very possible with type r cams, you need a good header, wich one do you have?? and more importanly a good Tunner

thanks maikito, i guess it really depends on the dyno too. ive seen some read high and some read low. right now my exhaust is a kiddsracing RMF replica. header, 2.5 test pipe, down to 2/14 straight to a aftermarket muffler... as for the rest of my bolt ons i have skunk2 IM, edlebrock TB, CTR pulley just alt., ngk wires and plugs,

You don't need a LS crank to make decent torque numbers. Also, ditch the ARP fasteners.

i forgot to mention it was also a gsr crank not ls, gsr engines are really good ive seen them make 201whp stock bore and stock stroke,
ps we used hytech replica header/2.5 inch exahaust, blox im, 68mm tb, aem cam gears stock injectors, stock fuel rail.. this engine made 173whp with bolt ons only

i use an ls crank in a gsr block. you'd need to use ls rods but thats not too big of a deal. get the arp replacement studs for them you will be ok.

there is nothing wrong with supertech springs. i use them with ctr cams, 8900 rpm.

use oem bearings., you can get the closest (most accurate) tolerences with them

Don't you have to remove the oil squirters to use the ls crank and rods in a gsr/itr block.
