Ok I'm swapping my tired d16z6 for a fresh k20 I have almost everything I need except ecu and header. Where I need help is I cannot afford kpro yet but I'm ready to get this beast on the road what can I do I got the k20a3 out of a base rsx 5speed tranny and am not sure if I can use the type s ecu or not b/c that is all I have found on ebay is ecus for 6 speed trannys please help the ecu code would help me tremendously incase I have to buy from honda thanks

i think u need to use the 5 speed ecu unless theres a way to convert it..u might want to try to look into k20a.org thats where i got all my info about my k swap

idk if you can actually do it without kpro. I mean i dont know much about K swaps but i didnt think that it was possible. Since K's are drive by wire and stuff, and those things have to be converted.

 

Go to k20aorg and search for k20tuned, a guy named Dale. He sells the ecu you need to run the kswap without kpro for 330 shipped. it has the immobilizer removed as well as secondary o2 sensor nd some other sensors. You can upgrade to KPRO later since the ecu is already pre prepped.

 

you can do what the guy above said.. i believe its called a doc kswap ecu. also, you can buy the 5 speed ecu and go to k tuned and get the immoblizer bypass and wire it into the harness near the ecu and it will run.. you cant run the 6 speed ecu with the a3 because from the factory the type s ecu is tuned for that motor. not the a3 motor. also, k series are a money pit. good luck and hope you get that thing running!
