Default Pic Request: From a Japanese-made 1996 or 1997 4dr Civic Sedan

H-T,

Need a little help with a part that I am after, and I would like to request a specific picture from a US owner of a Japanese-made 4dr Civic Sedan from 1996 or 1997.

You'll know if your Civic is made in Japan if the VIN starts with "JHM...". Sedans of this vintage were also made in the US and Canada, and your VIN will start with "1HG..." or "2HG..." respectively. Sorry, I'm afraid those vehicles won't help me.

So, if you own a 1996 or 1997 made-in-Japan Sedan, could you take a pic of the mounting bracket/electrical connectors for the fuel pump and fuel level gauge/float? This requires that you lift up your back seat, undo the 4 screws for the cover for the fuel pump and fuel float, and take a pic. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes of work.

Please let me know if you have ever replaced your fuel tank or any of the parts down there, and the year and model of your car. (A pic of the car would also be nice.) I don't need a pic of the VIN but the first 10 digits would be nice. This cannot be used to identify your specific car.

Thanks!!

Thanks. I can't fit them all in my signature anymore. Have to figure something else out. There will be another good DIY coming up if I can get some help with this part.

i dont think any of the civics in the US during that time were MFG'd in Japan. because the designs and powertrain were different. Honda already had a bunch of plants to make their stuff in the US or Canada. Although it is possible that there are some, I've never seen or heard of one.

^^^ I won't get into it too much, but suffice to say that this is incorrect. Here, here and here are 1997 4dr Civic Sedans that are made in Japan (note VIN).

I know someone out there wants to help me!

hmm, must be in other parts of the country. I've never seen one here. Although most people here have Hatches or Coupes and as far as I know all those are made in US or CA. With basically all the coupes coming from the US and the hatches from Canada.
