I want to see what people are doing about fog lights; either OEM, OEM style or Prelude fog lights on the 88-89 CRXs. You often see fog lights installed on 90-91s with the cutouts on each side of the front bumper. So throw some pics and DIYs up to see what some people have done.

You should be able to run the same fog lights on both the 88-89 and the 90-91. Only difference would be the bumper itself. As far as I know there are 4 efferent types of fogs...
1. Jdm style (Stanley)
2. Round jdm style (HB, also Stanley)
3. Usdm clear (Stanley)
4. Bosch ( not sure if they are Only yellow or clear)

The square stanley are similar but the Bosch is bigger.

 

i got fogs 1990.. driver side works when it wants to pass dosent.. i guess they are rare fogsi dont know i bought the car with em.. they have the switch inside..

 

thanks man...but that isn't what I am looking for. I am looking for 88-89 specifically, not 90-91.

 

i understand what you want but i dont have any picture of that particular item. i have seen people mount fog lights to the 88-89 bumper and have the front of the fog light flesh to the bumper, they just cut out a whole and secure that fog light in a way so that the light becomes flesh with the bumper.

I don't know if I have ever seen any pics of 88-89 OEM style CRX fogs. I have seen plenty of Civics with the "flush" mounted fogs but never any CRXs with flush mounted.

 

This thread is slow cause I don't think anyone has this done on their CRXs.

Yes they are. These are all the 88-89 OEM Stanley fog lights, They came in clear and amber versions. 88-89s had some shorter fatter Bosch fog lights too (allthough I don't think I've ever seen them) if you look on the inside of your bumper there are templates for the cutouts for both so you can picture what they would look like. I think the ones I have look the best.

Its funny you'd ask. Back in the day, i had a brand new set in the box. I really didn't like them and sold them off like 15 years ago. No pics though, sorry

 

I figured if anyone knew about them you would. On second thought I'm actually pretty sure I've seen pics of them at some point before but I don't have any pics, either way the Stanley ones are sweet.

 

I want to put them on my 88 rex but want them to look clean. Where do you get the trim to cover the cut.

Those are the 90-91 prelude fogs. You need 88-89 prelude fogs. They are the same as the usdm crx fogs.
