Default made good numbers on a stock sleeve 35r today

this is one of my employee's cars, so we were able to "push the limits" a little more than we normally would. and as a disclaimer i dont suggest making these kind of numbers unless you understand that breaking parts in the motor is highly possible lol.

set up is

motor was purchased used from a friend. we did not pick the parts that were used.
stock sleeve/bore ls motor
eagle rods
eagle stroker crank
srp pistons: 9.5:1'ish
s300 with boost control
3 bar map
255 pump
1000cc injectors
old peak boost manifold/kit (going to add a 2nd gate to it)
t3 .63 35r
3" dp/exhaust
precision intercooler
edelbrock manifold

the 5xx number is on pump gas at 18psi
the 6xx number is on Q16 at 25psi

with the manifold creeping, and then running out of exhaust housing/turbo at higher boost it was kind of weird to see it increasing on every run with rpm to watching it start to decrease. we never really got a perfectly flat boost plot.

this is the most power ive made on pump gas, on stock sleeves, and the most on the typical 1000cc/255 set up. its a lot easier on the fuel system when your only reving to 8500rpm! AFR was roughly 11.8 and hit about 98% duty on that pass.

should have some track numbers for it soon. no cage so it should get booted from the track on the first pass.

Those are some pretty high pump gas #"s for 18 psi with that housing and Turbo. I only made 507 on 19 psi with my .82 35r and 540 whp on 21 psi on pump gas, but I have a fully built motor.

What psi did it creep to? I'd imagine it was higher than 18 psi to make that power on a dynojet...

it crept to 18, it attempted to hold 14. fwiw with a .63 t3 35r my own personal car made 550@18psi as well. whats different here is this car has a 95mm stroker crank, and my car was 13:1 compression....hence making more power with less boost.

i totally agree these numbers are high compared to your typical 35r set up, i have tuned tons of them. seems 15-18psi usually gets you in the mid/high 400's.

truthfully i think the crank, the rods, the pistons, and the sleeves do not belong in a motor making this kind of power. lol

Yea well Christ with a 95mm crank no wonder haha....I was starting to feel bad about my build lol. That makes sense now...but regardless I'm sure the car is a rocketship and looks like a nice tune.

im hoping you forgot to mention it had a vtec head because if you did that on a ls head i want to know the person who did the head because they have to be close to god

for a second i thought you said this car was 13:1 compression............i was thinking damn you have got to be the best tuner on earth if you did this on that compression

what is the CR on this motor

other than those things i bet that thing feels like you never have to change gears

hell man i like boost creep if its consistant and tuned for it makes for an awesome torque curve did i say curve i meant line

just watch out for this guy coming after those sleeves

hell there are a couple of VW guys with frankenstein motors a diesel block a 100mm crank and a 20v head turning over 9k rpm's, but the one that comes to mind is all motor but there are some running the same setup on boost with less revs
damn i just wish we as in VW guys had heads that flow like your guys do stock the best flowing 20v vw head flow sheet only flowed about 15-20 cfm more than a stock s2000 head

hence why im looking for a swapped crx or hatch to boost.............i had a 99 Si but i was 16 and young and dumb i wish i still had it but i wouldn't trade my beetle back for it.....i just wish i had the b16 that was in

yes it does have a vtec head and ITR cams, forgot to mention that.

this motor is not 13:1, my motor was that made the roughly the same power. this motor has a big crank.

its a 38mm wastegate.

Nice power out of stock sleeves. Almost sounds about right. I have been running stock sleeves for 2 full seasons and half of another and the car has seen 29lbs of boost with not issues. Good luck!!

Almost forgot to mention it's on a 35r also..

what do you think that it could have made with the fueling and revving the race gas out to 9500
i looks like it could make almost 700 whp

Well I believe that with the .63 ar turbin housing it would run out of breath trying to reach 700whp.

very impressive results! was this on stock unported head?

and also whats the reason for stopping at 8.5k?

I'm guessing its boost creeping due to the 38mm gate? Otherwise that's an awsome torque curv...I mean ramp. It just keeps going up & up. Its just hard to connect that graph with the parts list.

So can you guys run boost any lower than that for the lower gears?

im sure it would still have some creep with a 44gate. 2gates seems to be the answer, its easier than trying to fix the single gate set up thats on the car.

i believe it made around 430/440 with the boost control turned off.

stoppped at 8.5k because of the crank and stock sleeves. i dont think it would have made much more power as it was starting to show sings of running out of exhaust housing/turbo already. im sure if it was reved higher power would start falling as boost was already dropping up top.

i believe the head had a home made dremel port job on it. again with the creep and the crank its kind of hard to compare this to your typical b series, 35r graph
