Default Your auto x setup

I've been looking at getting into auto x recently, and I'm just curious about what some of you guys are running as far as suspension goes. Post up chassis, and setup. Thanks!

I run my AE86 in stock H class.

Stock shocks, though that could be changed. Junk tires, though that could be changed to any street tires that can be fit into my stock wheels. Stock springs, and this can not be changed.

So needless to say, I'm not very competative.

I'll be the first to say it...

Don't worry about your setup. All you need is a "safe" car, and a valid driver's licence. Head out to an event and have fun. Definately run for awhile before you decide what to "build".

However, my setup...

'93 MR2 in E-stock

-OTS Koni single inserts
-Addco front swaybar, 3 way adjustable
-OEM crash bolts
-K&N drop in and muffler removal
-lighter than stock, oem sized wheels and 205 front/ 225 rear Hoosier or Kumho R compound tires.

The car is competitive.

i agree, you should really learn the car when autoxing then ad things to make up where your car lacks or something along those lines. my set up is....
'93 civic dx hatch -SM
-Omni Power coilovers 12/10k
-type R LCAs.
-SRR 19mm rear sway/tie bar combo.
-f/r Cusco strut bars
-C-pillar bar
-15x7" slips and 205/50/15 azenis(old version)

Yeah the lude is gonna stay pretty much stock for a while, while I learn to drive. But I'm getting a '89 hatch that's going to pretty much be just my race car, so I'm looking into building that.

I agree with the advice given above. An Evolution school will make you go much faster than any car setup. Anyways, as you requested:

94 Integra GSR sedan DSP class

PIC 12k fr/14k rr coilovers
ITR LSD
ITR 23mm rear swaybar
Kosei K1 15x7 with Hoosier A3S04 205.50.15
K&N filter

Lots and lots of seat time and I am still not competitive anywhere other than local events

92 si w/ b18c
sm
380f/450r ground controls, koni yellows, 21mm front swaybar, 22mm rear comptech swaybar, 15x6.5" regamasters w/ 205/50-15 falken azenis.

obviously, im not competitive because you have to have about 2x the horsepower i have, wide r-compounds, stiffer springs, and better shock.

i also suck, but it's fun.

enjoy.

02 Accord 4cyl autotragic
STS
550f/360r Skunk2 coilovers, Koni yellows, 28mm front swaybar, 23 mm rear swaybar, rear upper tie bar, generic front strut bar, AEM SR, DC header, hayame catback, AEM pulleys, 15x7 kosei K1 with 205/50/15 falken azenis
alignment: - 3.0 camber front, - 1.5 rear, 1/16" toe out in the front, 1/8" toe out in the rear.

im not competitive since my car is an auto and it's so over weight. but im usually in the middle of the pack on STS. also this is my first year autoXing. =P

H class Stock...

Bone stock Civic Cx '92. I'm running Falken Ziex 502 tires, good price for the performance I think. No performance mods, just did a full blown tune-up on the engine though.

Next 'mod' is a set of pedals - I'll be staying in HS for the entire season it looks like.

- My setup -

Driver:

Evolution autocross school Phase 1
Evolution autocross school Phase 2
4 years of autocrossing with at least 3 clubs each year
A few track days at BeaveRun and Nelson Ledges (VIR coming up)

Looking at increasing the quantity of all these items. I still suck but I am definitely improving. Seat time is the best "mod" you can get - especially when it's with an instructor or pro. I add to my experience almost every weekend.

Car:

'91 CRX Si (STS-2)
15x7 wheels
205 Azenis usually around 34f/32r (depends on weather)
Axxis Ultimates pads all around (Cobalt Spec-Bs up front for track days)
Ground Control 500f/600r
Koni Sports around midrange in front, 1/8 turn from full stiff in rear
DA Integra 22mm front sway
Stock 15mm rear sway
camber -1.5*f/-0.9*r (a bit more would be better)
toe 1/16" out f, 0" out r (daily driven)
Fastline Performance RR shifter
removed intake baffle & snorkel

I need to get an LSD. Some power mods would be in the works after that. Roll bar, harness, and fiberglass seat are also in the works for track days.

Default Re: Your auto x setup (Targa250R)

91 CRX Si (Street Modified 2)
B16A w/
AEM CAI
DC Sports header
GSR cams
ITR pistons

Nissin 10.5" front big brake upgrade

Tokico Blue Struts w/ Sprint coilovers

15x6.5 Rota Group N w/ 205/50/15 Toyo RA1 tires

Stock interior so I can stay in my class and stock exterior. If my interior is gutted I move up to OSP with some tough competition. This is my first season and I usually race in my own class at SM2 so I've been guaranteed a trophy every time. My PAX times are OK but I wished I had some competition sometimes. Either way I still have a blast and drive my car legally aggressive.

Just to let you know -- a set of non-OEM pedals will technically take you out of H Stock.

The thing is there are no driving schools or professionals around where I live (Hawaii). I guess I just need to get out there for now.

Ok, but don't build a car until you run a few times. In the other post (on the other forum), you said you're already looking at SM. That's a big $ pit.

No need for driving schools. Just get out there and start doing it. No need to build your car up before you start either. You will get more out of a driving school if you have a dozen or so events under your belt. And you will benefit later from learning to drive a stock car.

My "setup" is a work in progress:
99 Prelude base (5spd)
H&R Sports on KYB AGX
225/45/16 Hankook RS-2s on 16x7 Rota Slipstreams
AEM CAI
AEM Pulleys
Apexi WS catback
SS brake lines
AEM Pads F&R (soon to be Hawk HP+ in front)
Powerslot rotors

My future mods at this point are:
Front Strut Bar
Ground Control Coilovers
Progress Rear Sway
high flow cat
header (don't know which one)
Apexi VAFC
Lightweight battery

Just go out there and meet some people and ask for instructors to go out on your runs and give you pointers. 99% of autocrossers are really friendly and willing to help you out.
