where do I fall?
Just wondering where I fall in a SCCA solo class?

DSP it is then? Correct, which is what I thought.

and I think the ECU is out too.
Just show up and run in STS... if it's your first time out.. you will probably not get protested anyways..
I can easily put a back seat in, and I can easily change the ECU back, but the cat will not be changed. I don't understand how a cat delete can place you into another class. Not worried. I am going more-so for seat time rather than to compete. Its the last competition of the season, and the first time I have ran in the states.
they are legal... i think u need the STOCK ECU though
most sts civic run the redshift ecu... but i think its just a reflash or something
but i dont think you can have like a 2step or laucnh control...
i think the redshift just raises revlimit and other little stuff to bring out a lil more power
but i think solox on here can get more indepth with that

I think the reasoning behind cat-delete being a different class is because it technically makes your car no longer street legal. So by SCCA logic, if it's not street legal, then it is a race car.

as far as classing, trust me, there have been many many rules that have been put into place in the SCCA rule book that are even more senseless than the "cat delete rule", such as stock classes allowing $4000 motons, but mandating OEM sized wheels.

If there were no performance benefit, you wouldn't have bothered to do it. Some vehicles have multiple cats and will benefit more from removal than others.

That's a good attitude, and an attitude that I wish a lot more people had when first starting out or getting back into the sport.
There is no cat because the car didn't come with one. I was planning to do an engine swap with a big tube header, so no need to find another cat to put in there. Plans have changed, so I need to figure things out a little differently.
I need to get out to the event and quit listening to people online. Seems everyone has something different to say.
I was asking because I have to pre-register, and put my class on the pre-reg. form. I will register for DSP. I will take the backseat with me.

You will be legal for DSP with the rear seat installed.
If you had a cat on the car, you would be legal (and not too ill-prepared) for STS. ECU reprogramming is legal in STS as long as it is still contained within the stock ECU housing; however, you are not allowed to use a fuel pressure regulator in conjunction with a reprogrammed ECU.

Oh, and to work tomorrow. Bad ***.
Wow.
