The only thing that would make it better would be a few concrete walls and an elementary school next to it with no fences!

 

if i arrived at a track like that, id wouldnt even bother unpacking my stuff. what the hell do they think autocross is, a romp thru the woods? i saw it coming on the first frame of the video.

 

I was speechless after watching that video. What is even more amazing is the sound of surprise in the people's voices after the inevitable happened - as if they didn't see it coming.

 

When I first started autocrossing, I went to this one event that included a slalom between two metal light posts, with concrete bases. I was also told that the year before they had a long straight that led into a 90 degree left all the way at the end of the lot where the concrete wheel stops were. One car slid sideways, hit the wheel stops, and flipped. I didn't come back to that group again....

What's REALLY depresssing is that the driver didn't learn from the power oversteer the FIRST time he spun...

Lot with not enough dead things + pigheaded driver + inattentive officials = scared Andy

 

daym! looks like a few guys were just driving around one morning and saw a parking lot and said, "hey! lets try that thing called autocross."

inattentive officials? what officials, i didnt see any.

 

good point. i think youre right that these guys just put some cones down and got what they deserved. this obviously wasnt anything organized, random starting position and no workers (as if there was room).

Bingo! That's the first thing I noticed -- no starter... and then no course workers either... I really hate to see stuff like that happen, even if they are a bunch of dumbshits that don't know any better.

 

Listen to the audio. One of these ******** says, "...which is good, because everybody learned something", or words to that effect. Before the crash.

no helmets, passenger arm is out, bunch of ametuers out in a parking lot trying to do autocrossing... oh.. did i mention trees?!!!!

i dont know about all of you, but i just packed up my cones and im going to the nearest parking lot, trees light poles, it doesnt matter to me
