what is speedshifting?how do u do it?
what is a good way to shift fast? i'm new but i won't try anyof this until i get use to driving manual. example: do u push the clutch in shift to second quickly release clutch fast and give gas at the sweet spot
This is "speedshifting" (also sometimes called "flat" shifting):
1. accelerate at max power in 1st gear.
2. at redline, pull the gearshift very quickly and firmly into 2nd gear. Keep the accelerator to the floor; DO NOT use the clutch.
3. continue up through the gears in this manner.
This is very hard on the tranny, diff, axles, etc. It is the fastest way down the 1/4 mile, though. I have done it on occasion, but don't recommend it to a beginner!

i had a friend show/teach me how to shift fast enough using my stock clutch so that i can chirp second and third. just mash the gas, watch your gauges and once u get near or at redline, shift hard, fast and like the previous post mentioned... accurate! it's almost simultaneous so just keep the revs up and once u get it down,

Speed Shifting: just as you drive normally... floored, redline it, let of gas, push in clutch, shift gear... just very quickly!!! hence "SPEED"shifting
Power Shifting: shift as fast as you can using the clutch!! and most importantly--> "KEEP IT FLOORED" shift at redline... ive heard of people doing this without using a clutch, but never seen it done... i would not recomend it!!! if can drive and power shift well the no reason not to use a clutch!!!!

If you are a good enough driver you only need clutch on first gear. This isn't related to speed shifting, but a clutch is not needed if you get the exact shift point for your car, then change gears. Takes tons of pratice. Only problem is that perfect shift points are around 2,700 rpms to 3,400 rpms or so. You don't want to make a mistake.
