Do you think off-the-shelf Koni Yellows would be enough for those rates?

Nope, stock shocks will work great!

All silliness aside, your thread got locked because it wasn't on-topic for this forum - competition in sanctioned autocross or "circuit racing" events. Drag racing has its own forum and nobody here is going to give any love to people who want to sport on the street.

I have differed with our mod on a couple of topics but he has been great about explaining - appropriately, even when I didn't - what his rationale is. The net result is that we can come to this forum for actual technical information and racing news, without having to sort through a lot of other stuff. There are TONS of forums where people will share their opinions about what brands or models of shocks are "best" but, in most cases, they have never had any real testing on the track to back up their opinions.

Hang out here and you will learn about how lever arm length differences mean that a 22mm rear ARB isn't always a 22mm ARB. Hell, I got FREE expert guidance from from an actual KONI employee, for an oddball RACING application that I am working on. That kind of info ain't happening in the street racing or body kit forums, so it is appropriate to keep those topics out of here.

What difference does that make? Welcome to the Road Racing/Autocross forum, where we discuss:

Road Racing
Autocross

**** man, this isn't rocket science...

Really? I decided i'm done acting stupid on the street. I've had 3 tickets since i started driving, none in the past 2 and a half years. I drive like a normal individiual, use my turn signal, and drive with the flow of traffic on the highway.

But, i really shouldnt need to explain that to you.

difference is hes sprayin crap about hating on people who drive fast on the street when everyone here does/or has done it before..its hypocritical...we need a suspension forum..when people seek suspension advice they come here, but I guess thats the wrong thing to do unless your a pure atuox driver or road race, cause all theyll get are mostly useless posts or hate, but occasionally some good advice

Yeah i did it before. Then i started autocrossing. I did it less. Then i started open tracking, and paying more attention on the street. Now i dont do it at all. I have seen way too many accidents both on and off the track, and have heard too many stories from people wrecking their **** by acting stupid or street racing. I dont need that liability.

If you want suspension advice ask another forum. If you want competition advice, then ask here. Refer to this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=444539

I tried to answer your question, and reasonably I thought. When I used to teach junior high school, every few weeks some kid would try the, "I bet you smoked marijuana when you were young" tack on me. My response was always the same - "that's not the point - it's about the decision that YOU make." I could have honestly told them that I have never smoked dope (I was too chicken, frankly) but that would be endorsing the rationalization of their own bad decisions, after or (worse yet) before the fact. I don't really believe that I can change very many minds about the street sporting thing (which is why I don't visit the kilz forums out there), but I guess I have never quit being a teacher - so I give it a shot now and then.

Kirk

EDIT - get in touch with your SCCA region (http://www.hawaiis.com/scca/) and see what it would take to organize an event locally.

...but the point is, if me having never smoked reefer was a good reason for them NOT to, someone else having done it would be an equally good rationale in their minds, to make it OK.

1. I say, "sporting on the street is dangerous and dumb."
2. Defense says, "but you used to do it, right?"
3. I can respond (a) "Yes, but I know better now" (reaction = "See? You did it, so it's okay for me to do it"), or (b) "No, I have never done anything dumb on the street" (reaction = "he's a lying hypocrit, so it's okay for me to do it")
4. It's a loser either way but whatever - it's still about the decisions that each of us make and I know LOTS of guys who started making better decisions on public roads when they began racing.

Be safe.
