can a jdm type r final drive fit into a b16 tranny???

the B16A and the 96-97 JDM B18C both use a 4.40 Final drive but they use differnence size ring gears. The 98+ uses a 4.785 which is the same size as the 96-97 but uses a difference countershaft.

if you want to use a type r final drive you need to use the b18 differential too.

so u cant jes slap a 4.785 final gear set... to any USDM GSR tranny? and how abotu an LS tranny?

 

the jdm 4.785 final drive kit WILL fit into the 94-01 GSR gearbox. the jdm 4.785 kit includes - final drive ring gear, countershaft, first gear, distance collar, and neddle bearing. you just swap everthing over from your gsr countershaft except for 1st gear.
