Track Wheels
Any recommendations on what wheels are great for track (time attack/road race)? I've been looking at the 949racing 6UL wheels. I'm wanting some wide wheels preferably around 15x8 or 15x9. Any help would be much appreciated!
I just picked up the Avanti Racing Storm S1. I think 10lbs at 15x7. Don't quote me on that. I've had good luck with rotary forged flow formed wheels in the past. Good price too.
FFD's work really well for us. We have a ton of sets and no structural problems even with collision damage. They're quite light and IMO look really nice and fit great.
A number of people use Buddy Club P1, Kosei K1, Enkie RPF1, and Rota slipstreams. Many of these options are fairly affordable, lightweight, and come in various configurations. I want a set of 949 6UL wheels but they don't make a 5x114.3". I am currently using a set of 15x7 +35 TE37 and are great, but I'd love to have an extra set of other wheels aside from the heavy 16" ITR wheels.

Enkei now makes 15x8 RPF1s, just another alternative to the 6UL if you are looking for that size.
Maybe they shouldn't but pictures of 6UL wheels from years past made me shy away from them.

Thanks for all the input guys! I'm currently running Rota Slipstreams. Which I do love but would like to switch to something different. I've got to say I'm really liking those TE37s. I think I remember looking at these awhile back but noticed they are heavier than the 6ULs so I kind of just stuck with those. But you can never go wrong with RPF1s either. Decisions decisions. It will probably be another couple of months before I purchase anything. I'll post pictures when I do though. You can never have too many shoes!
