Default spring diameters...

i know that 2.5" is the standard for most race springs application ..and is easily avaible

so how do u guys get to have 2.5" of spring seats ?

i know that the bottom one is usually ( honda ) on the body of the shock
and the upper mount is the rubber mount that is on the body up
so if u wanna get 2.5" springs seats u have to replace the down seat on the shock and the upper mount right ?
where to get specific ( prelude 97+ ) upper seat mount for 2.5" ??

i want to get koni shocks.but the lack of spring rates is what is refrainning me to get my setup now..
i have really specific spring rates in mind and i want to be able to change if the spring rates doesn't work with what i wanna do ...

so what solution do i have ?

thank you ..

Sounds like your best option is to get the Konis and get threaded body sleeves for them (available from OPM, Ground Control, etc) with spring perches. The people you get the sleeves from can set you up with springs, and you are ready to go.

the only problem i see with that is the price..

koni sports run for what.. 150$ each ?
so 600$ there..
then 350$ for GC coilovers
does that come with springs ?

if it does..than it's not soo bad
if not then it's more costy than TEIN HA..wich u can choose spring rates ..

mmm..

GC coilovers comes with springs also, and you can choose your spring rates and lenght, made by Eibach.

Good thing with Konis they are revalveable in a number of places..and stuff....Tein on the other hand is pretty umm, foreign, so it may be harder to get it fixed, repaired ,parts and stuff...Go with Koni.

btw, autoX wise, the coilovers that were on the most winning cars are GC's so that tells you somthing i guess. JDM land is cool, but somtimes we overlook what we have in our own backyard while we are peeping over the fence and looking at their "greener grass"

Hi

JinMTVT you are talking about race coilover springs that come in 2 ID 2.25 and 2.5 and it doesn't matter what kind of shock you have, it matters what kind of coilover sleeve you have. The coilover sleeves (such as GC/skunk/ractive/weapon-r) come with a adapter cap and base that fit the 2.5 springs allowing you to use it with your stock upper mount. You don't replace anything ON your shock you just ADD the sleeve and cap/hat.

Get what ever shock you want it doesn't matter, as long as the sleeves you are using can sit a 2.5 spring then you can use any Eibach ERS race "coilover spring".

But do get shocks, running coilovers with higher rates, and lower stance will kill your stockers in no time, handeling may not be better, and is overall foolish save time and do it at once it will pay dividends
