Default spherical compliance bushing?

with all this talk about spherical LCA bearings, anyone know of a source for spherical compliance bushings for a EG/DC application?

i made one, sold the only set i made.

No one else was really making them. But i decided not to go ahead and produce the ones i made because people didn't want to pay for them.

I have another set that just needs to get pressed together, but that is for my car.

I have thought about starting it up again.

Price would be some were around $1000 for a full set. That includes front LCA R+L, front compliance R+L and rear LCA too.

This includes everything ready to install into your car, you just have to send me an unbent set of everything, (core charge). This includes Aurora MIL spec bearings.

no, I guess it was clear in my first post. One other person made himself a set, and bought my set. Those are the only two sets i have ever even seen.

Are you guys talking about something like this maybe?

http://www.progressauto.com/store/products_new.php

I've got MFactory stuff in the rear and had been looking for spherical bearings to replace the bushings in the front and stumbled across these.

not really .. was all machined by hand, just takes too long to do (and the cost on the bearings alone was ~250$)

I've got UCA rod ends

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2125669

and made these a while back for the Front LCA

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1365738

Been running the LCA ones for well over a year with no problems and UCA rod ends for since early this year

This is Brian with PCI, I make a full bronze bushing kit. I have found this to be much better than sphericals. Also much cheaper and if you ever have to replace the bushings there only a couple of dollars each. They cover every bushing in the front, they can be installed to increase caster up to 2.5 deg. They should be priced around $300 for the full set or can be bought just the LCA or UCA

here is a picture of one of the bushings, its a steel sleeve black zinc, with bronze bushing.I made a few sets awile ago for testing, and so far every things looking good there holding up really well, so i should be going into production very soon.

It doesn't need it, once you install them with just the arms and knuckles bolted up the suspension travels up and down freely with no binding what so ever.

hmm i was under the impression that the compliance and LCA mount weren't in the same plane.

ya, they are .. the way i did it only allows rotation around the lca<->compliance axis as well and it moves freely

Does this bronze bushing make the front end feel "loose and rattly"? Some solid UCA / spherical setups feel like that. Just curious.

Curious how the caster adjustment is done. Any more details?

I had a set of Orijin bushings for the front UCA and a spherical for the LCA inner pivot. I found there was a lot of binding in the UCA bushings so I got a set of sphericals put into the OEM UCA mounts by KingMotorsports. They are very nice and eliminated all of the binding with the Orijin's I had. When I asked if KingMotorsports would make a set of sphericals for the LCA, they said that they had had too many of their race cars suffer from frame tear-out where the LCA bushings bolt into the frame. I have not had any issues with my Orijin LCA sphericals, but they have a blue plastic type of spacers, which is a little less hard core than a full spherical LCA bushing like ProgressAuto sells. Anyone know of this frame tear-out issue mentioned by KingMotorsports?

Funny you should mention the frame tear-out due to lca SB's being used. I actually encountered this very problem two years ago with my dc2. Both holes in my lower subframe opened considerably and at a rapid pace (after about 3 race weekends).

I didn't notice until the holes had enlarged considerably but my car would dart from one side of the track to the other at speed... not a good feeling going up the Andretti Straight at Mosport in the wet

How did you detect the UCA bushings were binding? I put ES ones on there and moved the arm through the travel range, and it seemed to move without any problems. Just curious.

Hey guys. I have made a prototype of a spherical bearing kit for the compliance bushings for the 6th gen civics. Here are some pictures. So far the tests have been great (no binding and zero unwanted play after several race weekends). I'm currently working with my machine shop to see if we can get about 10 sets of these made at a decent price. Here are some pictures of the prototype.

Also I have several spherical bearing LCA kits in stock for Civics, Integras, Preludes and Accords See link below if interested.
http://www.mckinneyraceworks.c...21_33

I hope to have the civic compliance bushings out soon, and I plan to get a set out for the integras soon after.

Im not so sure those would be legal for h2-h4. Maybe H1, but as i understood it you have to replace the bushing and not the part that holds the bushing.
