Simple things like how far a batted ball can travel, how much does a curveball actually break etc etc etc.
Indeed the mirror shape and size make a difference.
Now if there was an inexpensive and durable solution I'd be convinced to make a change.

Yep, this a great idea. I use a full width wink mirror I bought at Pep Boys and I can still see quite a bit on either side of my car without using the side mirrors. This is why I don't use any mirrors (or a wing for that matter) at Cali Speedway. I still use my splitter though.
