Default Should I Mail It Back?

Well, I'm almost finished getting all of the sand out of the nooks and crannys of the Civic from Renee's little off last weekend. See... Wet Roebling sand is kind of sticky. And when it dries its kind of cementy. It doesn't just fall out all by itself. I actually had to break some of it up with a screwdriver and it fell out like little rocks.
So far I've pulled out enough to nearly fill up a 1 gallon bucket, and I'm not done yet. This is on top of all the stuff we hosed out in the paddock.

I hope they don't charge by the pound for taking real estate home with you.

How's it going for you Frogmeister Spiff?
Yours was worse than ours (I think).

Scott, who discovered that the little radius rod bearing pockets on the EF Civic hold a whole bunch of sand. Kind of like little scoops.

Oh yea ... there was mud caked to every part of that car. I had it on jack stands in our circle with the bumbers and all the trim off washing for a long time. There is now a huge trail of mud going down our street. It looks like a dried out river bed in Africa!

I think I could have gotten to ITS min weight with all of it on the car!

So that's the trick!! Just roll through the mud a little on your last lap and you're sure to make min weight at the scales.

God. I haven't even unpacked yet. I'm in the whole "avoidance" thing right now. I'll probably unpack this weekend, and hit the junkyard for a replacement bumper and taillight next weekend. Then, I'll get back to pounding out the dent so that my wife can't see it anymore.

By the way, a HUGE thanks to everyone who helped pound out the dent, string up the bumper, and make it look like less of an eyesore. And especially to Adam, for the inspired zip-tie action.

You'll learn pretty quick that little crinkles like that wont slow you down on a race weekend. When Chuck got hit in the left rear at Barber last year during qualifying the car came in with a punctured tire, a chunk missing from the wheel lip, the left rear toed out about 2 inches, and dragging the rear bumper.

About an hours worth of cutting, grinding, pulling, prying, and zip tying from 3 of us and the car was ready to go again. Yes, he won the race.
Racing is fun.
