Shock help needed....
Here's the story:
I'm building a '91 CRX Si to enter in the $2005 GRM Challenge and I need you guys and gals to help me with a little problem I have. I can't decide what shocks to get. Here's some info you need to know about my situation:
1) The car will enter into the "Locost" challenge. In other words I can only spend $1000!!
2) With the exception of GRM, the car won't be in any real compition so gaining a few 10ths here and there doesn't concern me as much as budget. It will however spend it's days at HPDEs and track days so I want it to be a fun great handling car.
3) I will be using coilovers and I should be using about 400lbs front and 500lbs rear (I'm still looking into rates so feel free to give advice here too).
The problem comes when I need to buy the shocks. I know Konis are the best (I run them on my STS Si competitively) but they will be extremely difficult to fit into my budget. KYB AGX's are another option but a good friend that sets up track cars for a living says they are not that good and will wear out too quickly.
Koni's = about $600
KYB AGX's = about $300 off Ebay new.

They should last long enough to make it through the GRM challenge.

I found a set of Neuspeed konis for 275 shipped for my car used, so there are deals to be found, I searched all the honda boards till I found the a good eal. I used to have AGX's and the diffence is pretty great, and I have not had them on track yet, however the agx's would defintaly be better than stock or what you have now and would defintaly last you at least through the challenge.
