Roll cage material

For a 6 point cage in a 2000 civic coupe. is there a big difference in weight between 1.500x0.95 mild steel and 1.375x0.095 chrome-molly (alloy steel)???

both weigh about 500 #'s per cubic foot.

you might want to read up on chrome moly.....

Thanks guys

I found that the mild steel 1.5" x .095 wall tubing = 1.426 lbs per linear foot
But as for the 1.375" x .095 in chrome moly I still don't know!!!

I just want to make sure the chrome moly is worth it before going that root
