Thunder Hill is close, within an hour I think. At night, when its raining, and other cars bring mud all over the track, you can drift like no where else.

i don't know if they'll let you drift on purpose, most tracks are pretty anti-drifting. you might be able to get away with it when the corner workers are asleep.

i remember a couple of guys getting the gasface from corner workers at Streets for being a little "aggressive" in the skidpad area, i guess there's been an incident recently?

Some clubs hold drift days at Thunderhill. Check out the AE86 clubs for stuff like that.

I have attended a drift event at Thunderhill, however, I do not drift. The event was mixed attendance (drifters and non-drifters) and I do not recommend it to the non-drifters. The drifters were constantly going off track and bringing mud/debris back onto the track. It made every corner a surprise. Not enjoyable.

Anyhow, the answer to your question is yes, there are drift events held there from time to time.. mostly organized by private groups.
