Default Oversteer/Understeer?

Is oversteer when the tail slides out, and understeer when the front is sliding and wont turn? or is it the other way around? What do honda's tend to do? How do you cure this problem? Thanks

You are correct. Hondas, like all street cars, understeer by design. Hondas probably have less understeer than many other street cars. Understeer is not a problem for normal street driving. As a matter of fact, understeer, in reasonable amounts, is safer for the average driver than neutral or oversteer.

So Honda's understeer is not a problem on the street and you should not try to "fix" it if you only drive your car on the street.

If, you are using the car in competition (not drag racing, which does not involve turning ), then reducing understeer is areasonable goal. To reduce understeer just increase the grip of the front wheel, or reduce the grip of the rear wheels, or both. There are many ways to do this and there are plenty of books that can give you different strategies. All will produce a car that is harder to drive on the street and more dangerous in inexperienced hands than stock.

Regards,
Alan
