Default Ordering From Tirerack....

Last thursday morning i placed an order with tire rack (over the phone), for a fresh set of Kuhmo Ecsta V700's and some KYB shocks. I immediately recieved an email to confirm my order, and then about an hour later i recieved a second email, stating that they cannot confirm my billing address information. I had just placed two other orders on the phone (one to SPS for various items, one to Carbotech for 3 sets of pads) and they had no problems running my credit card (i know they verify billing address). I called Tire rack again on friday, and again on saturday, and both days the order was "on hold" in the verification department before its shipped. I've had hassles like this before, as on campus at school has its own zip code and not in any of the UPS/FedEx computers, but the company i'm ordering from has always been able to call up my bank and verify that it is correct. Is this normal from tire rack? I was expecting the tires to ship same day/next day...

Thanks,

Ryan

SPS and Carbotech are small businesses and can work around the bureaucracy unlike a relatively large business like Tire Rack. On the other hand, I'm glad Tire Rack takes such precautions when it comes to credit card purchases. My girlfriend is currently dealing with identity theft, and it really ******* sucks. Be glad it's not you.

I'm sure a simple phone call can solve your problem. There's gotta be an inconsistancy somewhere, or else it wouldn't have been an issue.

When I ordered my tires and wheels they called me back at my home address a minute or two later to verify that I had placed the order and not someone with my CC #.

Thats good that they protect agains that sort of thing, but i called back my bank and verified the information was changed in their system, and called tire rack back twice friday and once saturday and they had not contacted my bank to verify the billing information....

This happened to me when ordering a set of wheels from The Tire Rack, except my problem was that the wheels cost more than the per-day limit on my Check Card (I know you shouldnt use them...). So I had to go back and forth between them and my bank to straighten things out. It did end up taking a while, and it took a day longer than I wanted it to for me to get my wheels (they my birthday present, you gotta treat youself well too!), but it worked out in the end. Did you place all of these orders on the same day?
