Default Mmm fire

I really wish they didn't actually paint Hawk Blues. Mine kept flaming up during the auto-x yesterday. Blue and yellow flames bellowing out from the wheels from eyewitnesses

There's still some more paint to burn off. They felt fine though. Nothing spectacular, but they were okay. I think I machined off quite a bit of rotor though, heh.

Had problems with getting the frontend to hook up though I think I may have had the fronts set too stiff. I had it set at one turn towards stiff (two total). I tried to up the rear end to 1 turn also (started at 1/2), but it didn't help that much. Decided to say "fug it" and just drive with what I had. Definately off pace from what I normally run, so I've got some figuring out to do.

LOL. Just exchanged messages w/ a friend who was at the auto-x too. He said mostly blue flames, but he didn't tell me they were blowing like 1 foot out the wheels.

Hehe, I was blackflagged at Summit last month for what was described as "a lot" of sparks coming out of my front wheels... And that was with stock pads... (Must have not noticed the reverse thrust JATO rockets installed under there... )

Right, but the sparks not flames indicates that they weren't ever getting started properly... which would explain why your car refused to stop

Yes, it is normal. Sparks fly whenever Hawk blues are cold. Once they warm up, there will be no more sparks. I've seen it happen many times.

(Sparks also fly when your pads are totally worn out - no matter what pads. Rotors can get really damaged this way.)

Yeah, the trailer is making me lazier Just roll it off, run, then roll it back on. No need to f-around with swapping wheels, or any of that stuff I used to do. Prep at home, and drag it on out. Cool.
