Default Link or advice for buttonwillow

Heading to buttonwillow 6/9 - 6/10 for HPDE

It's been a really long time since I've run the track CCW and I don't ever recall running it with Star mazda.

Any of you HC guys have a link to video running that configuration?

Also any advice you can give on which turns are important would be great.

I have run CW but I know going backwards totally changes things. Just looking at the track map I'm guessing it's pretty much flat out thru esses and again flatout from Star to Magic Mtn. (or whatever they call it now) and again pretty much flat out around Riverside until you hit the Bus stop, Flat out exiting bus stop until the left turn where the elevation change and the corner worker are. I haven't a clue on the next 2 or buttonhook.

Any knowledge would be sweet.

Check out edomoto.com. Edik puts his HC videos up on that site and he's always quick at BW. I believe he has both CW and CCW videos on there.

I had a hard time braking, turning, and shifting at the same time on cotton corners. (i don't think I will do that again) YMMV

I think I ran out of talent and ended up pointed south looking at the corner worker as he flew a yellow flag. (I've been off track on this turn several times)

Look forward to seeing you there. (look for the black EG with bad paint job)

Sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on it. I am hardly the BW guru, but I can tell you that the last turn before leading onto the front straight (Sunrise) is the widow-maker going CCW. It's very easy to over cook that turn. Then once you get out of shape, the instinct is to try and save it. That puts most guys (including some real rock-stars) right into the wall.

The fastest turns are always the most important. And those leading into the fastest parts of the track (the straights). The ones where I lose the most time at BW are always Sunrise and Sunset, at either end of the front straight.

These are PDFs with driving line info. Been around for years so might be a tad out of date.

CRX's aren't hard to drive, they're just hard to drive faster than Integras. That being said, if anyone knows how to drive a CRX faster than an Integra at Buttonwillow, it's Jeremy. He's one of the fastest out there that I know of. He's blindingly fast, nearly just a blur. You'll miss him if you blink. He's so fast, that on a 6 megapixel camera, he barely takes up 2 pixles! It looks like a smudge on the lens.

You'd have to be some kind of superstar or legendary road racer to beat Jeremy at Buttonwillow

Mr (President) Edo, with all due respect please keep what you do with Thawely's member between you and him. However, it looks like Thawley just opted out of the Friday Night Sword Fight you had planned....
