lightweight wheels
In your experiences, do light weight wheels of the same size provide faster acceleration? For example, two 15 x 6.5 wheels that weigh 15 lbs. and 9 lbs. respectively. If so, how much of a difference are we talking?
only if painted mad skillz yellow........sorry I couldn't resist
in a car with already very little low end power and acceleration yes they will make a difference
will you be able to feel it I don't know

Spend your money on something else - like driving more days. I've run 205 Hoosiers on 15X7 Volks on an essentially stock ITR against another stock ITR on stock wheels and tires (that was a savings of more than 8 lbs per corner if memory serves) - coming off a low/medium revs 3rd gear corner onto a fairly long 5th gear straight we were dead even till he let me by at the end of the straight. I was pretty surprised and dissappointed - I had expected some noticable free pony's.
If you need more wheels, consider the Kosei K1's from Tire Rack at less than $150 each. Or if you really want to be cheap use CRV wheels - though they are soooo heavey they might actually make a difference.
Please understand that I'm not disputing the facts of the rotational physics - lighter IS better. But you won't reap practical performance benefits worth $300 or more per wheel.
Scott, who owns too many wheels and tires.....

Thanks for your input.
I don't really have any racetrack/autocross experience, so I was asking more in terms of dragracing. I know the ideal thing would be slicks with small wheels, but when I go to the track I like to race in FULL street trim. I understand your point about 300 dollar wheels. I would never pay that much for a freakin wheel. I was actually looking at the rota c8's. I like the bang for the buck. The 15's are 12 lbs. (i think) and the 16's are 16lbs. I'm kind of torn between the look of the 16's and the light weight of the 15's--I don't want 17's because of the long distance daily commuting over abusive-pot-hole-riddled roads in my area. I know it's not much of a difference--lookwise, but I thought the weight was.
