What's the difference between a "Mag Centered" and a "Aluminum Centered" Keizer? The Mag Centered 13x8 is $279.00 and weighs 8 lbs. The Aluminum Centered one is $188.00 and weighs 8 lbs. What's the difference?
This is where I'm seeing this. I'll try to call them tomorrow, but I'm looking for a headstart here. http://www.midatlanticmotorsport.com/keizer.htm

It's as easy as it sounds, one has a magnesium center section and the other has a aluminum center. Magnesium is lighter and more expensive.
I've seen Keizer wheels fail on the track - the bolts that hold the rim and center sections together sheared and the tire lost pressure quickly. Not sure if this was a fluke or design flaw.

Thanks. I was thinking there was a material difference, but the wheel weights are listed as the same. Why not go with the aluminum then if there's no real benefit.
Seems odd.

Hey Johng,
I would recommend you stay away from them. A local SCCA national A/MOD champion and engineer did much of the development work with Keizer on the wheels and told the builders their is a design fault between the hub flange and the spokes, large stress riser but they refused to change them. I have seen more then one set fail in this exact location and heard of many more. Look at the 3 piece Superlights, Panasports, Monocoques or Lightspeeds sold by Bogart.

Interesting......got web sites for these others? I've been looking at the Panasports C8's also. My local wheel builder is selling his business, so I can't get parts from him anymore.
