H1 is back!!! -smack talkin' in high gear-

What a great weekend.

Too much to list... how about the highs and lows.

Highs.

- Closing on James and Chad the final half of Saturday race and watching them both slide off the track. sorry guys. Taking Saturdays WIN.

- The epic battle with Todd R. on Saturday.

- The epic battle #2 with Dudek on Sunday.

- Sunday, Dudek and I not letting Chad and James check out.

- Witnessing the epic battle #3 between James and Chad Sunday, while having my own fight. JE and Chad you have got to see my in car video!!!

- Finally allowing Yacks car to pull more than 8K.

- Carbotech pads for having different compounds to adjust to track temps.

- Understanding that Yacks car gets faster the longer the race goes. The leaders may check out but I'll catch em'.

- 27 lap race.

- Bookler knows where he can put that "show Kaar" crap now! The front of the hatchcrapper looks like it was hit with a shot gun after Reid and Dudek got finished with it.

- Still having the option to run whatever tires you wish.

- Bustin' off a 1:06.9 on Sunday. 3rd fastest lap of the weekend.

- Watchin' Kent (H4) bust his *** trying to help fix Brinsons (H3) GSR.

- Having such a fine race group to drive with.

- Nasa Chris and the whole crew did a great job! Thanks guys.


Lows: Really none.....but,

- Not being able to make the 'Rookie' make a single mistake Sunday. Dudek drove a great race. I stuck the nose everywhere trying to rattle him and no luck. See you at Summit.

- No Shultz, Bookler, Floyd and a few other guys.

Man, what an intense weekend for me, John was pushing me like crazy on sunday, and was forcing me to drive very defensively...and with my tire going away I just got slower and slower. I'll post a picture of the corded front left tire...

Both races were unbelievable for me, on saturday I was being on the offense, on sunday I was totally in defense mode and trying to pull every little trick I saw/learned from others on saturday...

Once again, sorry for making you go 4 off

a real pleasure racing with you. ultra clean and very tight racing. wish my tire hadn't delaminated in the middle of that race (yep. it was a Kumho. probably my fault though; overdriving trying to stay in front!)....

awesome awesome start of that Sat race. dead even through the top of third! except for the part where Chad Vin Diesel comes from 3 rows behind and passes both of us before the first turn. and i thought i finally had that LS making some powa!

every time you get behind the wheel of that new machine, you get faster (dammit!).

it was some of the best driving and racing i have seen...

the battle between chad and evans on sun for 1-2
the battle between matt and john on sun for 3-4

but i stiil enjoyed sat race more...
final lap, watching 7 cars go thru the back straight and seeing only 2 cars make it out thru the front...

"what happened to the other 5 cars?"

 

I just want to say you guys, HC and SM, had great races. I'm sure the crowds enjoyed it. it looks like you guys did too. I do have to say, a low was not having the racers see the bikini contest, HC was out racing if i remember right... but dont worry the biggest low was the bikini contest! you didnt miss a thing! I enjoyed the entire weekend... thanks again guys for the great racing!

what do you expect, its PA....

 

Even a flat-chested bikini contest would have been better than the drift competition. That was too weak to describe. Every sh!tbox 240sx in the greater PA area must have been out there. Too bad all of them sucked and got out drifted by a 4 door Civic doing e-brake slides.

 

Ya, that blonde that finished 3rd seemed like the hottest, then #2, and I have no idea how #1 actually won?

#3 seemed pretty pissed off that she finished 3rd!!!

Thanks for holding up Lionel Kent long enough for me to catch up after my 3 missed shifts at the start sunday....I had a run on you and Lionel untill we came up on the yellow 1st gen crx at the wrong time in the back stretch. Then I blew turn 1 on the white flag lap and let lionel take 3rd...
Talk 'bout in car video...I have my spin while fighting for the lead in H4 on saturday. I tried to follow john marhefka passed Phil Phillips at the kink in the back stretch and ran out of room, right HALF of the car in the grass and at 125 mph the guardrail was beggin to eat my crx, but I missed it. Only to get back on course and claw my way back to 3rd and then hit my teammate in turn 10, let him back by as a "so sorry for that" gesture, and then had to follow him for 7 laps and take 3rd...
Nice chattin with you over the weekend, can't wait for summit point, that is, if my crx hasn't been sold.. best time of the weekend was a 1:08.4 and Marhefka was at a 1:08.0 should have made for a great race saturday, untill that stupid yellow for Kents car....
Did you notice we ran for 6 laps while his car sat in the grass at start finish for a broken throttle cable at the start? why 6 laps and then the yellow, why not yellow in 2 laps? That let marhefka right up on my ****! Then got balked at the top of the hill by Phil Phillips that let Marhefka get a run on us, jon got by Phil and when I when I went to go by phil, the kink spin happend...

it was a pleasure speaking to you, too, chris. I posted a little reply in one of the other race report threads (i think it was warrens) pertaining to sundays scuffle. Lyonel can drive the wheels off that thing, thats for sure. more sideways then straight!

PS i owned a 91 GMC Syclone for two years, back before i was married. man, i wish i had never sold that vehicle. what a sleeper!

 

How would half the people know what the race was like on Saturday or Sunday?

They were all at the bikini contest which was held in the middle of the "feature" race on Saturday and most of the "show car" crowd left after the noon trophy presentation on Sunday.

No comments on the rest of the weekend.....................................

 

John, I'm sure we'd all love to see the in-car footage. Are you able to host it on We-Todd-Did or something?

Hey guys I want to thank you all for coming out and making the show so good. I wish I could have talked more to all of you. Again thanks for the support and we'll see you at SP!

 

I would have to say that, as a spectator, the race was awesome. This was the first time I'd seen a Honda Challenge race. I was enthralled. I can't wait to see it all again at Summit Point.

Also, I want to say thanks to Todd for talking to us before Sunday's race. In case you don't remember, I was one of the three guys you talked to about the KOS header, among other things. We were also the ones milling about the cars snapping pictures like a bunch of tourists.

John - thanks for the zip tie after the race on saturday (I'm the guy from Hamilton), my upper rad hose kept blowing off and I had a 500 mile drive home.

it was a pleasure talking to you guys. and personally, i really enjoy talking to the folks that come out and support us and watch us race. come on over to my trailer anytime, and ask any questions you want. i'll answer them if i can!!!

see you at Summit Point. should have another set of springs (located another set, maybe) and another set of tires. hopefully, can run respectably there (no 1:24's for me, though. no way).
