Default Hyperfest clarification and purposes

The following is a tentative schedule for HYPERFEST

Friday

Summit Point Practice Day for Racers 8:30-5:30

Roll in for Vendors and all Racers. It is highly suggested that all Racers be paddocked on Friday afternoon. The organizers of Hyperfest cannot be responsible for a racer getting stuck in traffic on Sat. am.

This is how the SAT June 29 will go on the Main track.

7am
Gates Open. We will have five gates open and at least 25 personnel at the front gates and another 20-30 parking cars. Traffic should move very quickly and should be of no concern to attendees.

8:30-10:30
Race car practice (includes HC and Champcars and NO, they are not running together so don't even ask that stupid question)

10:30-11:30
Three 20-min. Hyperdrive HPDE sessions

11:30-12:30
HyperRides

12:30-1:30
Racecar qualifying

1:30-4:30
HyperDrive HPDEs

4:30-5:30
HyperRides

5:30-6:00(est)
Honda Challenge Feature Race

6:30
BSR Evasive Driving Exhibition

7:00pm
Rollover Contest

7:30
Drifting Contest

8:00
Burn Out contest

8:30
NASA Spokesmodel Calender Contest

9:00 Ill-Lojik Concert

10:00 Fireworks

On the Jefferson Circuit for both Saturday and Sunday

8:30-5:00 HPDE and Time Trial (for novice, intermediate and advanced level drivers)

More to come....

Is camping for racers and crew an option for Fri and/or Sat nights?

Chris,

My only request is that we race a good bit earlier on Sunday (1 or 2ish). Many of us are traveling from a good ways off and can't afford to get stuck in a mass of traffic exiting the track at 5 to 6pm.
This would allow the racers time to get packed up and get out of there before the mass exodus.

Pretty please with sugar on top...

Scott, who is 12 hours from Summit and has to be at work that Monday (yeah... I'll be late).

No way I'll be there before 7pm.

I, of course, as the head of a high profile event like this feel it may not be responsible to encourage drinking. Jack, do you really have to ask the question?

As far as the $50 extra bucks go it is up to you to decide if the $50 you pay now for exposure to both fans and attending sponsors can be parlayed (sp?) into more than $50 in sponsorship later. My belief is that it will be well worth it. How much do you think that article about you in the Carlisle newpaper was worth? Have you tried to use it?

Beer is more important than anything to some people.

Jason-
who wonders how much better some people would be on track if they did not drink.

Trust me, Dave (R&D) thinks I'm worth much less than $50, more like a dollar-fifty and some matchbox sticks.

Yack - who will pack a cooler

Chris, with 5 gates, and the racers being on track as early as 8:30am, could we ask to have one of the 5 gates be for racers only? Can we ask Bill from some super top secret back way into the track so we can avoid the chaos?

$50 you pay now for exposure to both fans and attending sponsors can be parlayed (sp?) into more than $50 in sponsorship later.
But shouldn’t fans and sponsors = racers paying less money to attend the event?

Is that not what they are there to see/sponsor?

You would think the main attraction for the weekend should benefit (somewhat) from the extra cash flow that will be directed towards this event.

The problem is that there are only 2 roads to the track and both will be backed up like Carlisle. My solution appears to be never leave the track . . .

Chris - Here's another easy one (I think).

How much does it cost to get in the gate if we're "crew"? . . . or is there a "crew list" at the gate that gets us in free?

Probably depends on which "Crew"

1. "Hi. We're the crew for the #24 ECHC car."

Or

2. "Yo. We be the Bling Homey Stunnaz Crew. Where the bi**hes at?"
