Default How small is too small

I attended an auto-X yesterday at the Ice palace in Charleston, SC.

The site was super small, not to mention lots if islands with curbs. and a giant wall that stretched the whole length of the course on one side..

I had a good time and all, but the fastest lap for me was 25.3,, too short of a course i think.

Evo ran a 24.8 and stripped hatch in EP ran 24.5 Karl in his Accord ran 25.5 too bad he was too loud,, well they kept saying "dont take out the gear" be more quiet

I guess its better to have a small rinky dink site then NO site

Chad was there so we'll se what he has to say...

A 24 second course is very small. Around here the small ones are around 35 seconds for most cars.

We also have to deal with hard obstacles like light posts and fences.

Maybe I'm missing something here...but with times under 30 seconds that crazy unless were just talking lap times.

So was it just one lap? and if so why?

If you only had say 30 people you could have gone two or three laps.

yeah it was definatly a small lot, I probably would have used 1st gear in the accord if they had not asked me too keep it quiet. And I never use 1st gear.
Top speed for me was probably around 45mph, and all but two or three of the turns were under 30mph.
Nice work Shane but you wont be so lucky next weekend

Karl dont talk trash yet, you might get me in raw time MAYBE,, but for sure not pax Im gonna break in the garage and take the ACCORD out for a few laps

Whitey is gonna come out strong

ITR764) : Roebling would be worth the drive down to savannah. we always have a nice long, fast course setup there.

We do have an event in savannah this weekend at a highscholl lot that isnt too shabby

when the DC region SCCA used to run at the Harry Grove Stadium lot in Frederick, we would use some parts of the course two or even three times to get a 40 second run. The course map looked like a plate of spaghetti. A good memory was an asset.

we've had smaller here in Vegas.

Try 19secs for the shifter karts, 23secs FTD for normal cars?

Casino parking lot. the lot was free, that was the only reason why we had them there.

for some reason or another, an extra loop through the course was unsafe
